Traitement thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The inhibition of gypsum precipitation by homo-, co-, and terpolymers has been examined in aqueous solution. It has been found that polymer performance as gypsum inhibitor depends upon polymer composition, type of comonomer, and functional groups. Results on the evaluation of polymers suggest that compared to co- and terpolymers, homopolymers containing carboxyl group are effective gypsum inhibitors. The impact of heat treatment (150°C to 240°C) on the performance of various homo-, co-, and teropolymers as gypsum inhibitors has also been investigated. It has been observed that all polymers lose performance to a varying degree when exposed to thermal treatment. Performance data on co- and terpolymers containing amido group show improved performance after heat treatment suggesting the formation of carboxyl group. Scanning electron microscopic investigations of gypsum crystals grown in the presence of polymers show that structures of these crystals are highly modified. Traitement thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : High-performance polyimide fibre is well known for its outstanding thermal stability, fire resistance and chemical stability, and it has great potential for use in fire-protective textiles. One major drawback of polyimide fibre is that it is difficult to dye under regular conditions. In this work, it was found that polyimide fibre could be dyed with disperse dyes with the assistance of N-methylformanilide. Thus, it was proposed that there might exist an interaction between polyimide fibre and N-methylformanilide that plays an important role in dyeing. Experimental results showed that N-methylformanilide penetrated into polyimide fibre, resulting in a slight swell in diameter and decrease in the breaking strength of polyimide fibre. X-ray diffractometric data showed no apparent solvent-introduced increase on the crystallinity of polyimide fibres but an orderly change on the interplanar spacing. When N-methylformanilide was removed from polyimide fibre by thermal treatment, the diameter, breaking strength and interplanar spacing of the polyimide fibres were all recovered to some extent. This indicated that the interactions between polyimide macromolecular chains were broken because of the penetration of N-methylformanilide, and new interactions occurred between polyimide macromolecular chains and N-methylformanilide that played a role in lubricating dye molecules to diffuse into polyimide fibres. Traitement thermiqueIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : As part of the treatment of leather tanning industry effluents, waste water treatment sludges are generated. In June, 2005, new German landfill regulations (TA Siedlungsabfall) will come into force which limits the organic content of disposable waste. Consequently wastes will have to be thermally treated prior to landfilling. Tannery sludges contain non-toxic Cr(III), but when burning these residues partial oxidation to the toxic Cr(VI) occurs.
A method is therefore required to avoid this oxidation. As part of a co-operative research project supported by the BMBF (Federal Ministry for Education and Research) and a German-Brazilian environmental programme, LGR has tested the low temperature conversion on leather industry sludges in an integrated pilot plant. A particular objective was that no Cr(VI) should be produced across the process.Note de contenu : - The integrated pilot plant

Conducteurs organiques

Traitement thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This work reports the preparation and application of microwave thermally expanded graphene (G)/polyaniline (PANI) conductive paste. The results from XRD revealed that the polyaniline did not change its crystal structure after being combined with microwave thermally expanded graphene. FTIR and Raman spectra revealed that there was a strong π–π interaction between polyaniline and microwave thermally expanded graphene. The resultant conductive pastes possess obvious shear-thinning phenomenon, which are suitable for screen printing to produce conductive circuits. The printed polyester fabric showed significant conductivity which can be tuned by changing the printing time and line length. This study paves the way to large-scale fabrication of flexible conductive circuits for various applications. Note de contenu : - Experimental : Materials
