Moules d'injection -- DétériorationIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : High pressure is involved during injection molding operation, especially in the packing phase. Cracks in the mold often occur as a result of high cavity pressure. In this study, the structural analysis of an injection mold was performed to investigate the stress concentration in injection mold. The structural analysis included stress distributions and stress concentration according to cavity pressures and mold designs. The causes of cracks were investigated through the computational results for stress concentration locations and the magnitude of stress. Two commercial programs were used and various boundary conditions were applied to obtain reliable results. This study found that the locations of high stress concentrations were coincident with the locations of cracks and that the weak mold design was responsible for these cracks. Mold designs such as interlocking designs exerted a strong influence on the robustness of the mold. It was verified that the analysis method used in this study can be applied to evaluate the robustness of injection molds. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENT AND ANALYSIS OF CAVITY PRESSURE : 1. J. Numer. Methods Eng. Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Repairing structures damaged by fatigue through the use of composite patch bonding is an efficient and economical process to preserve structures and increase their lifespan. Much work is currently being carried out to improve this technique. In this work, a 3D nonlinear numerical simulation by finite element analysis was carried out to study the behavior of the crack front and determine the evolution of the stress intensity factor and the change of stress with respect to distance from the crack point. for an aluminum alloy plate containing a central crack, repaired asymmetrically with a composite patch. The repair of these plates must be more precise and reinforced around the crack point, therefore the stress are high and the stress integrity factor SIF is more important according to the results of this study. Note de contenu : - Epaisseur du placage

SyntansIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather being a natural material finds a most prominent position in the fashion field. Leather goods, garments and products symbolize luxury and comfort. Manufacturing of leather products requires meeting the physical and chemical norms stipulated by the international agencies depending on the end products. Among the various physical properties, sewability is very important in deciding the quality of manufactured products. The present research discusses about the effect of syntan and fatliquor on leather properties. Experiments have been designed with varied concentration of melamine syntan along with 10% fatliquor. Various physical characterizations such as sewability, tensile strength, grain crack and microscopic images have been studied to elucidate the effect of syntan and fatliquor on leather properties. The experimental results show that the presence of fatliquor is a critical component to achieve better sewability properties in leather. Similar effect has been observed in the case of grain crack and tensile strength of the crust leathers. Prosaically, the experimental data have shown that the usage of fatliquor shows better sewability property.
