Tackifiant (adhésifs)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : In summary, the modulus of this Dow Experimental PU dispersion is too high to be inherently pressure sensitive in an unformulated state. Various traditional PSA additives are useful in reducting this modulus. Plasticizers are more efficient in modulus reduction than tackifiers. Both the compatibility and softening point of the tackifier must be taken into account to achieve success.
The combination of tackifiers and plasticizers are effective in achieving the necessary modulus reduction. Also, the blending of lower modulus acrylic dispersions is useful to achieve modulus modification. The modification of the polymer backbone using traditional polyurethane chemistry or external cross-linkers can also be used to achieve specific PSA properties.
Based on these studies, it is our belief that polyurethane dispersions will soon find a more significant place among the many waterborne polymers being used in the PSA industry.Note de contenu : - Testing

Revêtements en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Industrial wood coatings encompass several market areas, including furniture, kitchen cabinets, building products, and decorative coatings.
Requirements for these markets largely depend on their field of application.
Exterior performance is focused on high durability and protection against humidity, while interior coatings require properties such as scratch, chemical and abrasion resistance. One of the largest sectors of the interior market is the furniture industry.
Several resin technologies are being used by coatings formulators in this market, including solventborne (SB), waterborne (WB) UV polyurethane dispersions (PUDs), and self-crosslinking acrylics. Several criteria are of importance in considering which technology to use.
Each technology has advantages and disadvantages, and a comparison has been summarized based on the criteria in Figure 1. The dominant technology used in North America is solventborne, including nitrocellulose (NC) and acid cure conversion varnish. These coatings have many benefits, including fast dry time and very high gloss, and they enhance the wood appearance. They are also very economical and can be easily applied by spraying, rolling, curtain coat, and dipping.Note de contenu : - Fig. 1 : Resin technology comparison

Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Temporary functional coating based on a 1K waterborne polyurethane dispersion that provides temporary protection for high-end products against chemical and mechanical damage, dust, fingerprints or stains. Since it can be easily applied to a wide range of substrates, e.g. plastic, glass, metal or coated parts, it is ideally suited to various applications such as IT and consumer electronics, automotive, wood & furniture etc.
Demanded characteristics of this coating are good adhesion to the surface on the substrates when applying and when they are unnecessary, it's easy to peel off and not to leave any coatings on the surface.
The advantages of these peelable coatings are their high efficiency and eco-friendliness as waterborne 1K formulations, tough but elastic-, thermo-stability, spraying capability (for 3-D objects), and absence of any residues since no adhesive is required.
Experts at Bayer MaterialScience have developed dispersions and starting formulations for environmentally compatible coatings that provide this protective function. Once they have served their purpose, they can be peeled off easily with no residue left behind.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/11BiBgwUyP8BIqFyhyx0MZE8hZOISEnYE/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=21789

Vernis en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Waterborne wood coatings have become more and more copuler in the recent years, especially due to the increasing environmental and health concerns, as well as the strong legislative restrictions in terms of VOC taken in some regions. Thanks to the important efforts made in terms of research and development, some of the newest products are matching the standard traditional systems with a minimal environmental impact. However, there are still some drawbacks to overcome, such as the versatility and ease of use of these traditional solventborne systems.
The wood coatings industry is an industry in which you can still find a quite significant number of craftsmen and small- and medium-sized carpenters and applicators. Reliability, versatility and easy handling are very important for all the industry but these become crucial when it cornes to smaller companies.
These and other topics have been addressed by our R&D, resulting in two new products with a single aim: enabling the wood coatings formulators and applicators to switch to waterborne.Note de contenu : - Waterborne coatings
