TubesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Separation technology is as old as humankind. The ancient Egyptians already filtered their drinking water with porous clay vessels. The best filtration technology available has been refined for 3,000 years. As measuring technology has advanced and measurement results have be-corne more sophisticated, people's expectations of filtration results have grown, while filtrate purity limit values have become more stringent. High filtration standards are reliably met with vombaur's seamless filter fabrics made of the precisely fitting material. Note de contenu : - High-tech products made of high-tech fibers

Temps de cycle (production) -- RéductionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Thermoplastic composites are emerging rapidly in aerospace, aviation and missile/defence applications. Thermoplastic composites offer lightweight advantages, high specific modulus and strength, design flexibility, ease of processing, and recyclability. This paper presents some recent work by the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) team in aerospace components featuring discontinuous and continuous carbon fibre thermoplastic materials, including complex-shaped baseplates for electronic housings, stowage doors, shrouds, fins and structural loadbearing members. The processes used include extrusion-compression, fibre injection, tailored blanking and vacuum forming, which enable rapid cycle times. Note de contenu : - Promising opportunities

Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Technical Fibre Products Ldt. has developed a range of very lightweight advanced thermoplastic nonwovens. These new materials can be used in CFRP composites as enhancing interleaves, significantly improving fracture toughness while adding minimum weight to the final part. Résistance électriqueIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Bipolar plates are one of the key components of fuel cells and redox flow batteries. They consist of plastics compounds highly filled with electrically conductive materials. To save space, cut costs, and reduce weight, there is increasing demand for the production of thinner plates without compromising robustness and service life. This can be achieved using modified polymers. With a new technology, bipolar plate films based on these modified polymers can be processed as coils. Note de contenu : - Challenge : Thin but durable
- Modified films achieve the required values
- Coil processing is possible
- Figure : The modified polymers enable films to be processed as coils
- Fig. 1 : By modifying the highly filled plastics, considerably thinner bipolar plate films can be produced than was previously the case
- Fig. 2 : Film thickness of the processed compounds and comparison with reference materials (filling degrees in brackets) : the thickness of the plates ranges between about 0.5 and 1 mm
- Fig. 3 : The tensile strength of the different films is lower than that of the reference materials. However, the reference materials are also considerably thicker (3 mm)
- Fig. 4 : The electrical resistance of the compounds (filling degrees in brackets) is higher than that of the reference materials. However, this is compensated for by the lower thickness of the films
