Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : We are reporting the preparation and characterization of nano-titanium dioxide and silica. The corrosion resistance performance of these nanopigments in silicone as well as silicone–polypyrrole Interpenetrating Polymer Network has been evaluated by impedance spectroscopy. The capacitance and resistance exerted by this nanocomposite coating were compared with the microcomposite coating and found that the nanocomposite coatings has the resistance in the order of 108 ? cm2 in 3% sodium chloride solution, which is more than the microcomposite coating. The comparison of heat resistance performance of these composite coatings indicates that nanocomposite coatings exhibit higher heat resistance property than the microcomposite coatings.

Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : There has been an ongoing effort by the coatings industry to improve surface properties in order to increase corrosion and wear resistances, as well as other material properties. In this work, we report a methodology for producing nanocomposite films of polyurethane and graphene oxide and polyurethane and reduced graphene oxide. The coatings were applied on steel. The nanocomposites coatings were characterized by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, contact angle measurements, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Corrosion tests reveal that the use of reduced graphene oxide increases corrosion resistance when compared with the use of graphene oxide as filler. Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The influence of 1(2E)-1-(4-aminophenyl)-3-(2-thienyl)prop-2-en-1-one (ATPI) on the corrosion behavior of weld aged maraging steel in 1.5 M hydrochloric acid was studied by potentiodynamic polarization method and AC impedance (EIS) technique at different temperatures. The results showed that the inhibition efficiency of ATPI increased with the increase in the concentration of inhibitor and decreased with the increase in temperature. ATPI acts as a mixed type inhibitor without affecting the mechanism of the hydrogen evolution reaction or iron dissolution. The adsorption of ATPI on a weld aged maraging steel surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation. Both activation and thermodynamic parameters were calculated and discussed. ATPI inhibits the corrosion through both physisorption and chemisorption on the alloy surface. The surface morphology of the weld aged maraging steel specimens in the presence and the absence of the inhibitors was studied by the respective SEM images.
