For some applications, where the goal is to achieve deagglomeration , disaggregation or delamination, manufacturing technologies are often applied for which optimisation is both desired and necessary. A new production technology enables optimisation for such applications in terms of power requirements, output and service life of the production machinery, as well as ease of cleaning and operation.
- le modèle poupée russe: les plans de graphène sont arrangés en cylindres concentriques ;

Attempts to enhance the dispersion degree of MWCNT and the NBR-MWCNT interaction were conducted using numerous approaches, namely, sonication and chemical treatments of MWCNT with nitric acid (HNO3), nitric-sulfuric acid mixture (HNO3/H2SO4) and potassium permanganate (KMnO4). Rheological behavior, dynamic properties and electrical properties of MWCNT/NBR vulcanizates were monitored. Results gained reveal the magnitude of Payne effect increases with MWCNT content and mixing time. The expanded MWCNT and continuous-network formation are observed with an increase in mixing time, yielding enhanced mechanical properties and electrical properties. With MWCNT modification, a significant reduction in the state-of-mix of MWCNT composites is exhibited. SEM results demonstrate the highest magnitude of MWCNT dispersion in the system with HNO3, but relatively poor interaction with NBR. The HNO3/H2SO4 or KMnO4 system demonstrates poor MWCNT dispersion after treatment which is probably due to the compaction of MWCNT during the drying stage after the chemical treatment process, giving the detrimental effect to mechanical and electrical properties of vulcanizates. RhéologieIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the capillary extrusion behavior of low-density polyethylene (PE) was investigated. From the linear viscoelasticity and the morphology observation, it was found that the CNTs were well dispersed throughout the PE matrix and our system belonged to the semi-dilute regime. The strain hardening, which quantifies the extension of the PE chain, decreased by presence of CNTs in the uniaxial elongational deformation. In contrast, the normal stress difference was almost unaffected by CNTs in the shear deformation. The capillary extrusion behavior revealed that swell ratio decreased with increasing the CNT content although melt fracture was promoted. We summarize that the suppression of swell and promotion of melt fracture are attributable to the orientation of CNTs. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials - Measurements

Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Three different microcapsules, namely dicyclopentadiene (DCPD)-urea formaldehyde (UF) based single-walled microcapsules, DCPD-UF-Siloxane (DCPD-UF-Si) based double-walled microcapsules and DCPD-Carbon nanotubes-UF based dual-core microcapsules were synthesized, and their corresponding self-healing composites were prepared. This paper mainly focuses on the synthesis procedure of various microcapsules and a comparative study on the effect of microcapsules over the final composite properties. The core content of the microcapsules was measured and compared with theoretical calculations. DSC & TGA analyses have shown that the novel microcapsules (DCPD-UF-Si, DCPD-CNT-UF) and their composites have better thermal stability compared to DCPD-UF microcapsules. Epoxy-carbon fiber (2 wt.%) composite specimens with three different microcapsules were tested for surface morphology, mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. SEM analysis has shown that the microcapsules have a rough outer surface and smooth inner surface. The average diameter and shell thickness of the microcapsules were measured for all types of microcapsules. Addition of double-walled and dual-core microcapsules has reduced the glass transition temperature of the composites by 10 °C. Also, SHC with DCPD-UF-Si and DCPD-CNT-UF microcapsules have shown better thermal stability (300 °C) compared to DCPD-UF microcapsules (220 °C). The incorporation of CNT based microcapsules inside the composite has also improved the electrical conductivity by 2.2 times, without compromising on self-healing efficiency (78 %). Therefore, these novel microcapsules can be potential candidates for making multifunctional polymer composites for aerospace, windmills and automotive applications.
