Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Simulation - Long fiber-reinforced thermoplastics - While the dimensioning of short fiber-reinforced thermoplastics is now established as state of the art, the dimensioning of their long fiber-reinforced counterparts (LFT) is an unresolved issue for developers and designers. First answers are provided by an integrative simulation method now developed at the Institute of Plastics Processing for predicting the strength of injection-molded LFT parts. Note de contenu : - Process influences in LFT are diverse
- Efficient calculation by homologation
- Fiber curvature must be taken into account

VisIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Alongside clip joints, welding and cementing, the incorporation of technical screw connections into the component assembly is one of the most important jointing methods. Together with the screw manufacturer Ejot, the compound producer Lehvoss has investigated the suitability of 3D printed components for screw connections. Three materials underwent the practical test for this purpose. Note de contenu : - Unreinforced polypropylene attained the customary values in the test
- Better scores for polypropylene with carbon fiber-reinforcement (PP/CF)
- A reliable jointing technique for PA/CF
- High-strength materials across all axes of strain

PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In the automotive industry, many injection molded plastic components are painted with multi-layer coating systems. After suitable surface pretreatment, at least one layer of primer, a basecoat, and a clearcoat are applied. A new polypropylene compound now fulfills all technical criteria without application of a primer, so saving time and money. However, this achievement does not depend on the material alone. These types of applications involve processes, such as pasteurization, that expose the pressure sensitive article to high heat and humidity or hot water for extended periods of time. Our new technology allows us to undergo processes of this type with little or, in most cases, no whitening. Note de contenu : - Test methodology
