Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Since the spring of 2020, the global health crisis related to COVID-19 has placed the pollution risks of megacities as a secondary concern. Should viruses be considered as an integrted part of pollutants ? They belong to the large family of microtiota such as micro-organisms, bacteria, microbiota such as micro-orgnaisms, bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast. Hand washing with soap or hydro alcoholic gel, an essential barrier to virus contagion, has become a way of life around the world.
The bactericidal efficacy of cosmetic hygiene products is evaluated in vitro by following the recommendations of bactericidal tests by distinguishing the reduction in viability of Escherichia coli. As for the antiviral activity of a hygiene product, its objectivation seems to be pharmaceuticals.
For the face, the wearing of masks, sometimes amounting to many hours daily, becomes a new parameter to be taken into consideration is assessing the tolerance and effectiveness of cosmetic products. The resulting change in the skin ecosystem is significant and can be akin to close pollution, due to the promoted development of bacteria, friction of tissue, increased CO2 as well as temperature and sebaceous secretion.
For hands, too much use of hydro-alcoholic gels can also cause skin stress. These leave-on hygiene products promote hand dehydraton, which is often put to the test during the winter. Clinical trials can be conducted under normal conditions of use to assess the consequences of these new uses through :
- Use test and self-assessment
- Tolerance tests and expert score evaluation
- Sensory analysis tests with trained or naïve panels
- Biometrological tests to measure the different parameters of skin physiology and in particular the evaluation of the skin barrier function and TEWL, colour, sebum level, hydration, imperfections...
These are the immediate restorative effects that will be studied and the protective effects over a day or a few days of use. The protocols should be adapted to consumers of the skin care product, age lifestyle, skin type...
Pollution has been a major environmental risk to public health in major megacities around the planet for many years. A lot of human activities become a stress factor for nature and human living conditions which lead to various problems such as : respiratory troubles, DNA changes, premature ageing of the skin, among others. The pollution included in the "Exposome concept" has various origins : agriculture, energy production, natural phenomena (volcano eruptions, road transport, fuel combustion, methan synthesis... and the list is so long !)Note de contenu : - The classic pollutants
- What are the consequences of the pollution on the skin physiology ?
- How to classify these harmful impacts i the short and long term ?

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In order to avoid premature ageing, the best thing we can do it is to protect us from sun and other situations caused by pollution. The urban environment where we live affects to us and our skin. Skin, as we also do, can be stressed, intoxicated and will need a space more oxygenated.
In favour of unstoppable situations of industrialization and environmental pollution, which have contributed to destroy the ozone layer, cosmetic laboratories have created new products to combat these factors which are quite harmful to our skin. The result : antipollution cosmetics which are rich in plant extracts to avoid damages and help to protect fibroblasts (tells where the collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid is produced). The destruction of these vital elements create a decrease of the isotropy in skin, skin dryness and, as a consequence, a premature appearance of wrinkles and spots and matt colour of skin.
In this article, the effect of hydroxytyrosol as antioxidant and skin protector against pollution is going to be studied. Firstly, it is necessary to understand that the main problems of pollution are translated in an increase of the ions concentration, lipid peroxidation and free radicals formation.Note de contenu : - Hidroxytyrosol as a chelation of ions

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : When the whole 'anti-pollution' trend ignited a couple of years ago, we could have been forgiven for wondering if it might corne and go. The reason being, targeting skin and hair damage caused by daily pollution was something many active ingredient producers focused on as far back as the late 1990s. At the time consumers did not really buy into the concept, or perhaps it was the case that brands did not convey the key messages particularly effectively.
In 2016 and 2017, 'anti-pollution' has certainly featured heavily as a trend in personal care consumer product launches, and it is a trend that is not going away any time soon. Consumer understanding and appreciation of the impact of daily pollution, and indeed différent sources of pollution (UV, Infrared light, PM2.5 and Oust, car fumes etc.), on skin and hair has increased dramatically. Ma instream and social media attention of course help to spread key messages. From a consumer product perspective, 'anti-pollution' as a trend is not exclusive to personal care, we are seeing new household electrical appliances for instance making claims about how they help to lower health damage from indoor pollution within the home.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uM9FsjhuXfBFG2rvPd8msG68dVFLy6aP/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28735
