Index. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : In June 2019 the le edition of ITMA, the world's largest textile and garment technology exhibition took place. Index. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : Non-textured filament yarns tend to exist side by side in a parallel and even way. The surface is smooth compared to the less uniform and hairy surface of staple fiber yarns. For many applications staple fiber specific properties are desirable with retention of the continuity of a filament at the same time. Through texturing the filament yarns obtain customizable properties such as high bulk, high elasticity and porosity. The properties of textured filament yarns are currently measured offline in the laboratory. Online optical methods for the characterization of filament yarns on the running yarn do not exist. Offline measurement methods are costly and generate only statistical information on the quality of the yarn by random sampling. Besides the state-of-the-art of the measurement of textured yarn parameters, a potential method for the direct optical measurement of textured filament yarn is presented here.
UrethanesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Polyurethanes are a class of elastic copolymers, which are known for their high elongation and very good elastic properties. Polyurethanes as polymer are available in variable hardness grades, which make them suitable for a long range of applications i.e. packaging, sealing, coating, textile applications etc. Elongation and elasticity are regarded as important properties of textiles as these properties play an important role in the wear comfort and shape retention of the textiles. According to a study, 80% of clothing contains elastic filaments in variable proportion. This makes the use of elastic filaments unavoidable in the apparel industry. This article gives an overview of polyurethane properties, filament production processes and recent advancements in the melt spinning process. Note de contenu : - Filament spinning of polyurethanes
