PolystyrèneIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Die swell reduction is observed as a result of filler incorporation into polymer matrix. The degree of die swell decrease depends among others on filler particles geometry. In the paper results of experimental investigations concerning relations between particle geometry and die swell are presented for polyethylene and polystyrene filled with a number of commercial fillers. Approximation functions describing these relations were developed. This enabled simultaneous analysis of the influence of different particle geometry properties on die swell. Good fitting of approximation models to experimental results was achieved. Similar behavior of polyethylene and polystyrene compounds was observed. Shape ratio exhibited the most pronounced influence on die swell. The higher is the shape ratio of filler particles the smaller is die swell. Much less significant influence showed specific surface and mean particle diameter. In this work, we attached biocidal moieties (Isobornyl methacrylate, IBOMA) to the side chains of the polyacrylic polymer to form the antifouling polymer (AFP). Then, the hydrophilic polysiloxane (HP) was prepared through the polyaddition of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and alkoxysilane onto the main chain of the hydrogen silicone oil. Finally, the hydrophilic fouling release coatings (FRCs) were formed by the reaction or winding of antifouling polymer and HP polymer with an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) method (IPN-FRCs). The effects of the content of AFP and HP on the adhesion, surface roughness, and antifouling performance of the applied coatings on substrate are thoroughly studied and revealed in details through different analytic techniques. The IPN-FRCs exhibit high adhesion strength to the substrate, and the surface roughness is greatly reduced when submerged in seawater. Furthermore, the IPN-FRCs have high performance against seawater bio-organisms, such as barnacles, during both in-lab and marine field tests when right polymer ratios were chosen. Thus, the novel FRCs may have great potential to be applied for marine vessels in line with their low-cost in raw materials and high performance of the final products. In our study we found that the amount of degradation Was decided not only by the kind and dosage of acids, alkalis and salts, but also by the degree of swelling. Collagen degradation increased in proportion to the degree of swelling, this Was found from the results of many experiments using different systems of acid, acid/salt, alkali, alkali/salt. The structure of collagen was degraded and impaired by the extent of the swelling. According to these results, non-swelling liming would cause less collagen loss than would the ordinary type of swelling liming. Relaxation des contraintesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Currently there are no available standard methods to measure the "creep" and the "relaxation" of leather. In this paper a new method is proposed which allows determination of both parameters as well as the retained set or "bagginess". The creep and the stress-relaxation phenomena quantify the visco-elastic character of leather and are related to handle and comfort characteristics.
