This research investigated the structure and application properties of the collagen-SPI self-assembled film and the blend film. FTIR and XRD evaluation of structural properties indicated that the self-assembly method could effectively enhance the compatibility between collagen and SPI. The collagen-SPI self-assembled film presented a compact, smooth and continuous microstructure. The tensile strength (Ts) and elongation at break (EAB) values of the collagen-SPI self-assembled films (Ts : 13.991 ±0.53 MPa, EAB : 84.57 ± 6.21%) were nearly twice those of the blend films. The water vapour permeability (WVP) values of the collagen-SPI self-assembled film were more than 2000 g•m-2.24h. The maximum decomposition peak of collagen-SPI self-assembled films was located at 313.2°C. The collagen-SPI self-assembled films could achieve swelling equilibrium quickly within 2 hours, and the structural integrity of the film was maintained for 24 hours. The collagen-SPI self-assembled film had excellent ultraviolet shielding and visible light transmission qualities. The collagen-SPI self-assembled film had better mechanical properties, optical properties, thermal stability and water resistance properties as opposed to blend film. As a clean and feasible method, the self-assembly method could improve the functional properties of the collagen-SPI film. The collagen-SPI self-assembled films could be used as novel wound dressings in the future./ Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL SECTIONS : Materials - Preparation of the collagen-SPI self-assembled film - Preparation of the collagen-SPI blend fim - Characterisation of the collagen-SPI films

Séparation (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polysiloxane is a promising modified material due to its good hydrophobicity and toughness, but it suffers from serious uneven distribution and migration during film formation process which gradually lead to the destruction of the hydrophobic structure. A novel silicon-modified copolymer with different molecular weight and vinyl content was synthesized to overcome this problem: an appropriate amount of double bonds between the polysiloxane backbone ensures uniform distribution. Moreover, a multicrosslinked network binder was prepared by miniemulsion polymerization of the polyacrylate copolymers and polysiloxane. Unlike the common crosslinked network of an uneven distribution and migration of silicone backbone, the polysiloxane with suitable crosslinking degree and molecular weight could be effectively distributed evenly during the film formation process. As a result, a better hydrophobicity and toughness performance (89.7° ± 0.5°, 2500% elongation at break) was achieved with this novel poly(methylvinylsiloxane) with 11,024 g/mol at 0.804 mmol/g vinyl content. The product was applied to pigment printing with better wet rubbing fastness and soft handle compared with the unmodified polyacrylates binder. The DSC, SAXS, and XPS indicated that high molecular organosilicon chain and moderate vinyl content were prone to phase separation and obviously shifted onto the surface of film, enriching a uniform organosilicon layer, which played a vital role in the surface hydrophobicity and mechanical properties. ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A core‐shell acrylate binder for pigment printing containing acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate (AAEM) in its shell was synthesised via semicontinuous seeded emulsion polymerisation. Self‐crosslinking occurs when curing at low temperatures without releasing formaldehyde. The core‐shell structure of the binder produces prints with a high block resistance and good film‐forming properties, which can avoid clogging the screens during the printing process and help to acquire a soft handle for textiles. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis demonstrated that the latex particle had a core‐shell structure of size ca. 120 nm. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) testing showed that polyacrylate (PA)‐modified AAEM exhibited two apparent Tg, providing further information about the formation of the soft core‐hard shell latex particles. Crosslinking degree tests, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and testing of the mechanical properties indicated that self‐crosslinking of AAEM took place at 100 °C, thereby enhancing the thermostability and mechanical properties of the latex films. The softer and non‐stick handle, excellent rubbing fastness, and higher K/S were obtained by further padding the printed fabric with amino silicon softener. The chemical structures of the surfaces of the printed fabrics were studied by Fourier Transform‐infrared (FTIR), and results confirmed that the crosslinking reaction between the amino of the softener and remaining acetoacetoxy functional group (AcAc) of AAEM had taken place.
Tannage Résumé : The production of biodegradable polymers has proved to be a promising alternative, since these materials have accelerated degradation, contributing to the reduction of residues and the reduction of environmental pollution. The tannery wastes contain considerable collagen and can be used for gelatin extraction and film production for use in agriculture. Gelatin-based films, however, present some challenges for practical application, such as permeability and solubility in water, parameters that can be improved through the crosslinking process by employing enzymes, promoting the union of polymeric gelatin chains. In this context, the action of the enzyme transglutaminase was investigated to improve the properties of gelatin films recovered from leather and chitosan residues, which were evaluated according to thickness, solubility, permeability, mechanical properties, and soil degradation. The results indicated that the enzyme concentration in the films had a significant effect on the properties of water permeability and solubility and strain to rupture. The evaluation of soil degradation showed that films with higher enzyme addition took longer to be degraded. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Protein extraction - Film production
