The crosslinkable monomers are selected to co-polymerize with acrylate, then a core/shell latex with hard core and soft shell is obtained. The functional latex is blended with nano-silica, polyfunctional amine, functional pigments, and filler to obtain an excellent environmentally friendly traffic-marking paint. And, the latex polymer is further modified with multifunctional enamine silane coupling agent to enhance the wear, water resistance, and dry speed of the traffic paint. The reactive hydroxyl groups on the surface of nano-silica can react and crosslink with hydroxyl, nitrogen atoms, or carboxyl groups of binder, which can form a dense crosslinking network, enhance the crosslinking density, and bond strength. The above results can meet the special needs of the traffic-marking paint.

VerreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Fluoroalkyl end-capped vinyltrimethoxysilane oligomer [RF–(CH2CHSi(OMe)3)n–RF; RF = fluoroalkyl group; n = 2, 3] can undergo the sol–gel reactions in the presence of a variety of phosphonic acid derivatives such as 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid, nitrilotris(methylene phosphonic acid), and 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid under alkaline conditions to provide the corresponding fluorinated oligomeric silica/phosphonic acids nanocomposites. Interestingly, it was demonstrated that the modified glasses and filter papers treated with these obtained fluorinated nanocomposites can exhibit the superoleophobic/superhydrophilic and superoleophilic/superhydrophobic characteristics on their surfaces, respectively. More interestingly, the modified filter papers treated with these nanocomposites were applied to the separation of the mixture of oil and water. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Measurements

Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Colloidal silica nanoparticles synthesized from tetraethoxysiliane via a sol–gel process were surface modified by 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (MSMA) and 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS). MSMA acted both as a C=C provider and a coupling agent, whereas HMDS was used to prevent particle aggregation and engender hydrophobicity. The modified silica particles (HMSiO2) were UV-cured together with the crosslinking agent, dipentaerythritol hexa-acrylate (DPHA) to form coatings on poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) substrates. Dynamic light scattering of the synthesized sols indicated that the average size of HMSiO2 was ca. 10 nm, consistent with that obtained from TEM imaging. FTIR spectroscopic analyses demonstrated chemical attachment of HMDS to the silica particles. The cured coatings were characterized in terms of water contact angle, light transmittance, hardness, abrasion resistance, and surface morphology. It was found that hydrophobicity of the coatings increased while light transmittance and hardness decreased with increasing HMDS content. DPHA played the role of providing mechanical strength and adherence; however, the coatings became lightly hazy when the weight ratio of DPHA/silica fell in the range 0.3–0.7. In the optimal case, a hard coating (4H) with water contact angle of 108° and transmittance of ~100% (vs PMMA) had been obtained at the DPHA content of 10 wt%.
