Modèles mathématiquesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A study on deformation and filtration properties of a leather semi-finished product after chrome tanning are presented. The analytical dependences of compressive load on compressive (recovery) strain and moisture content of a leather semi-finished product are obtained. The empirical dependences of hydraulic gradient on filtration rates are determined for various compression ratios of the leather semi-finished product. It was revealed that with an increase in compressive load and moisture content of the leather semi-finished product, the compressive deformation increases. The shoulder section is subject to the greatest deformation, then the belly section and the least deformation is observed in the butt section. A linear relationship has been established between the hydraulic gradient and the rate of moisture filtration through the leather semi-finished product in the directions perpendicular and parallel to its surface. Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this paper, the mechanical behavior of epoxy polymer nanocomposite with continuous single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) with and without vacancy defects has been investigated based on two approaches of deformation, molecular mechanics (static) and molecular dynamics. In this regard, molecular simulation has been performed on the basis of the compass force field. In order to validate the research steps, the results obtained for pure epoxy polymer were compared with similar molecular dynamic simulations, which confirmed the simulation process. The research process proposed a method for controlling the symmetry of the system during equilibration with an asymmetric barostat. The Souza-Martins barostat was also used to apply loading and deformation control over a constant strain rate range. The results showed that in both deformation approaches (with and without calculating the contribution of kinetic energy), the presence of defects improved the transverse tensile and shear moduli, while the longitudinal tensile modulus decreased. Also, the improvement and decrease of the longitudinal tensile modulus and longitudinal shear modulus of the nanocomposite in comparison with the net polymer have been observed in both approaches, respectively. As a general result, it was observed that the contribution of kinetic energy has a major effect on the mechanical properties of pristine and defective nanocomposites.

Both the retardation value of film and the stress were simultaneously measured during stretching. The stress required to deform films depended on the stretching temperature, but the retardation was nearly independent of temperature. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this study, the strain rate sensitivity of a discontinuous short fiber reinforced composite and the strain rate effect on the damage evolution are investigated. The studied material is a polymeric composite with a polyamide 6.6 matrix reinforced with oriented randomly short glass fibers at a 50% weigh ratio (PA6.6GF50). Tensile tests at low and high strain rate are conducted. In addition, interrupted tensile tests are carried out to quantify the damage at specific stress levels and strain rates. To perform the interrupted tensile tests, an intermediate fixture is realized via double notched mechanical fuses with different widths designed to break at suitable stress levels. The damage is estimated by the fraction of debonded fibers and matrix fractures. Based on the experimental observations, it is concluded that the ultimate stress and strain, and the damage threshold are mainly governed by the strain rate. Furthermore, it is established that the considered composite has a non-linear dynamic behavior with a viscous damage nature.
