Substances per- et polyfluoroalkyléesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Everyone uses them, almost no one knows about them, and we all have them inside us - harmful PFAS. Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of over 10,000 different chemicals. Some of these substances have outstanding properties. For example, they are extremely chemical resistant, grease repellent, water repellent or flame resistant. Note de contenu : - Fig. 1 : POF can be used in 3 types of application
- Fig. 2 : Total internal reflection in a POF
- Fig. 3 : Emission of PFAS along the life cycle of POF for workers, users and the society

Recherche industrielleIndex. décimale : 620.19 Autres matériaux Résumé : Carbon fibers combine the advantages of very good mechanical properties and low density. Thereby they offer a high potential for weight reduction and energy savings. The properties can be influenced by the choice of the raw material and the adjustment of the process conditions. Hence carbon fibers can be optimized for a wide area of applications. Nevertheless the choice of the precursor material does not only determine the resulting material properties of the carbon fibers but also has a considerable impact on the duration and the costs of the production process. Until today, fields of application for carbon fibers are limited due to their high costs. Note de contenu : - Basics of carbon fiber production
