Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Reducing the environmental impact of its products and manufacturing processes is a matter of prime concern for the French company CHEREAU, a leader in the field of refrigerated semi-trailers manufacturing. Thus, flax fibre-reinforced composites were tested in the context of a major research and development project entitled ROAD (Refigerated Optimized Transport Design). The glass-fibre based composites used for the production of the vehicle panels were relaced by flax fibre-reinforced composites for the manufacturing of prototype double-sided back doors. In addition, the Elium thermoplastic liquid resin, developed by Arkema, was used to replace the polyester matrix. The main purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the weight reduction potential of this new material, which is also being tested in real conditions by a partner customer conducting tests on the full vehicle. In addition, recycling tests were performed to evaluate the recycling performance of the resin. Note de contenu : - Materials and manufacturing
