For full protection, only a multi-level approach will succeed. Here an approach is described where a first line of defence is built up by a film-forming polysaccharide complex which physically prevents binding of pollutants. Activation of the cell's own detoxification system is used as the second line of defence. And because pollution also induces epigenetic changes with long-term effects, a third line of defence was established where these epigenetic changes are prevented or reversed. Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Snow algae powder is a novel anti-ageing ingredient based on an extract of biotechnologically produced snow algae. In cell culture assays, the snow algae extract was found to induce a calorie restriction-mimetic effect by stimulating the expression of the Klotho gene and the activity of the AMPK protein. The extract reduced the loss in collagen expression in aged fibroblasts and counteracted the increase in matrix metalloproteinases in senescent fibroblasts. In clinical studies, the snow algae powder was shown to improve the papillary structure of the dermal epidermal junction, significantly enhanced skin hydration and smoothed crow's feet wrinkles. Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Inspired by epigenetic science, a novel peptide active ingredient has been designed to delay the aging of skin. Both lifestyles and environmental factors have an impact on the epigenome of skin cells and thus influence their vitality. THis active is based on a biologically active pentapeptide that mimics the function of royalactin. Recently, this protein has been discovered in royal jelly as being responsible for the epigenetic programming of the queen bees in hives. The peptide is formulated in a soft sphere carrier system to ensure bioavailability and the best skin regeneration results. The pentapeptide influences miRNA expression and activates epidermal cell renewal for a refined and uniform skin texture. Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Ageing and metabolic disorders such as diabetes are key drivers that can lead to skin barrier disruption. Despite the increasing demand for cosmetic treatments for old/diabetic skin, current options are limited and often include occlusive formulations. A major characteristic of a disrupted skin barrier is a defective calcium gradient in the epidermis. Therefore, replenishing the aged/diabetic skin’s calcium stores with topical calcium could be a potential therapeutic approach. Both in vitro and clinical studies have shown, that a novel calcium ion (Ca2+) vector system enables the successful delivery of bioavailable Ca2+ ions into the skin, aiding not only in recovery but also in protection of the skin from SLS stress. This highlights the use of this vector system as a new and superior approach to treat a damaged barrier present in diabetic, aged, or atopic skin.
(Wikipedia)
Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The outside world can have a direct effect on cellular DNA. Peptide P5, based on the queen maker protein royalactin, consists of a 5 amino acid sequence that is prominent in several growth factors. The peptide promotes Skp-1 upregulation in aged skin cells resulting in rejuvenation of specific protein populations. Stimulating the production of important mitochondrial components helps to preserve the skin's natural vitality. Our new active ingredient keeps the skin supple and gives it a smoother texture and more even appearance. Note de contenu : - ONE GENOME - TWO FATES
