Textiles et tissus -- LavageIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : After a successful shopping trip, you are delighted with your newly purchased clothes. To preserve this joy for as long as possible, your textiles should be washed in a way that not only keeps them clean but also protects them. The original colors should fast, clothing should not discolor. Dye transfer inhibitors in color detergents play an important role in preserving a garment's original colors. They prevent color molecules in the washing liquor from transferring to another textile and discoloring it.
The special polymer Sokalan HP 56 K is a particularly powerful dye transfer inhibitor as a result of its chemical structure (vinylpyrrolidone/vinylimidazole copolymer). It can be easily incorporated in the various liquid detergent formulations as well as in modern pods, capsules, and pouches. As a result of its special dye transfer inhibition, it also supports "color care" claims such as "color protection," "maintenance of color brilliance," and " less pre-sorting" of laundry.
For washing conditions that resemble those of consumers, a new test method was developed, which is presented below. It demonstrates that by using Sokalan® HP 56 K, light and dark textiles can be washed together and the colors do not lose their brilliance.
In addition to the new test method, the following section shows how the surfactant system in formulations can be optimized to counteract negative effects caused by dye transfer inhibitors interacting with anionic surfactants.Note de contenu : - New tests method to support "color care" claims

Textiles et tissus -- LavageIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The objective of this research was to study the effect of the copolymer polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinylimidazole (PVP/VI) for use as a dye transfer inhibitor (DTI) during the washing of dyed polyester fabric, depending on the detergent components. The DTI was used to find its efficiency during repeated washings of polyester fabric dyed with disperse dyes. At the same time, its efficiency was tested for preventing dye migration to other fabrics, such as polyester, cellulose diacetate, acrylic, polyamide, cotton and wool. The influence of anionic (SDBS) and non-ionic (alkyl ethoxylates with 6 EO-groups) surfactants in different proportions and with zeolite as a builder and the aforementioned DTI was tested. Results of CIELAB colour differences were obtained for the dyed and undyed polyester fabrics after five washings. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PART : Materials - Apparatus - Procedures
