The capability of the material to resis delamination cracks is one of the key problems to solve. This paper shows how the detaminat on resistance depends on the properties of the base materials (fibres and resin) and present a new technology aimed at increasing the crack propagation resistance: Z-Fiber pinning. Note de contenu : - Common problems in multi-hull racing yachts
- Possible solutions to delamination

Textiles et tissus -- Industrie et commerce -- RépertoiresIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Starting with PET fibers in edition 3/2021, PA fibers in edition 4/2021, and PE/PE fibers in edition 1/2022 Chemical Fibers International presents an extensive list of European fiber manufacturers, broken down by fiber type and location. The list is based on a survey by our editorial department, on information provided by the companies on their websites and on our own research. included are the companies in Greater Europe (including Russia and Turkey) which manufacture fibers and yarns directly from polymers, regardless of whether these fibers are sold or processed within the company. Pure manufacturers of spunbond and meltblown nonwovens are not included. There is no claim to completeness and correctness of the table.
In this issue we present producers of acrylic fibers (divided into staple fibers, filament yarns, oxidized PAN fibers, modacrylic fibers, recycled PAN fibers), high-performance fibers (divided into SAF fibers, carbon fibers and recycled carbon fibers, aramid fibers, PPS fibers, PI fibers, PEEK fibers, PTFE and PVDF fibers, novoloid fibers) mineral fibers (glass and basalt) and metal fibers. An updated list of European fiber manufacturers will be published at regular intervals.Note de contenu : - Acrylic fibers - PAN staple fibers

Terpolymère acrylonitrile butadiène styrèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Polymer blends - For the roof rails on the current Opel Compact Estate it was decided to use a reinforced thermoplastic solution instead of aluminum. The Spanish automotive supplier SRG made the choice for the mineral fiber-reinforced PC+ABS blend, Pulse XT9215, from Trinseo. This material is the first in a range of PC+ABS formulations for lightweight, economically produced exterior automotive applications. Note de contenu : - Suitable filler and low density
- Surface quality and material competition
- Material range for future exterior applications
- FIGURES : 1. Different fillers compared on the basis of stiffness/impact strength properties - 2. Influence of the coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE, from-30 to +30°C, as per ISO 11359-2) on component density - 3. Dependence of the final CLTE performance (-30 to30°C) of the material on the size of the injection molded part as determined in tests on an ISO test bar and test plaque (80x80x2 mm) ; comparison between Pulse XT215 (new filler), competitor MF20 (talc-filled) Pulse 2013 (talc-filled) and Pulse 2000 EZ (unfilled) - 4. Mold filling simulations help determine the optimum gating points positioning and filling sequences for a homogeneous, virtually stress-free molding
