Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : A new tetrakis hydroxymethyl phosphonium sulphate (THPS)-aluminum combination tanning system has been developed. The optimum dosage of THPS was 2.0%. The amount of THPS and basic aluminum chloride was optimized at 2.0% and 3.0% (basing on the weight of pelt). The influence of ligands on the shrinkage temperature (Ts) of leathers was also studied and the Ts of THPS-aluminum combination tanned leathers was above 88°C. Color fastness to dry/wet rub of THPS-aluminum combination tanned leathers was much better than the relevant color fastness to dry/wet rub of leathers tanned with THPS alone. Scanning electron microscopic studies showed that the fiber weave of THPS-aluminum combination tanned leather was much closer than leathers tanned with THPS alone and the fiber weave of THPS-aluminum combination tanned leather was closer(tighter) with an increase of amount of basic aluminum chloride. Hence, with the increase of the amount of basic aluminum chloride, the reactive ability of basic aluminum chloride with collagen fiber was stronger and the softness became worse. Degradation rate of soiling for the THPS-aluminum combination tanning leather was much quicker than that of chrome tanning leather. Through SEM analysis, the surface structure of leather which was not degraded was more regular than the leather degraded for 30 days. Meantime, the of THPS-aluminum combination tanning leather degradated much more easily than the chrome leather, which suggested a benefit for the sustainable development of the leather industry in future.
Tannage Résumé : A new tetrakis hydroxymethyl phosphonium sulphate (THPS)-zirconium combination tanning system has been developed. The optimum dosage of THPS, pickling pH and basifying pH were 2.0%, 3.5 and 5.0, respectively. The amount of THPS and zirconium sulphate were optimized at 2.0% and 2.5% (based on the pelt weight). The influence of ligands on the shrinkage temperature (Ts) of leathers has also been studied and the Ts of THPS alone and THPS-zirconium combination tanned leathers was much better than the relevant colour fastness to dry/wet rub of THPS alone tanned leathers.
Scanning electron microscopic studies show that the fibre weave of THPS-zirconium combination tanned leather was much closer than for THPS only tanned leather and the fibre weave of THPS-zirconium combination tanned leather was closer with an increase of amount of zirconium sulphate. Hence, this proves that the softness was reduced with an increase of the amount of zirconium sulphate and that the reactivity of zirconium sulphate with collagen fibre was very strong. The bulk trial carried out in Haining Shangyuan Leather Co., Ltd., proved that all indexes of the leather reached Chinese standard requirements.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : Materials - Determination of Ts - Optimization of the dosage of THPS - Optimizing pH - THPS-zirconium combination tanning - Physical testing and handle of leather - Test of Cr2O3, Cr6+ and formaldehyde content - Analysis with scanning electron microscopic (SEM)

RetannageIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : AB2 monomer was synthesized by Michael addition of diethanolamine (DEA) and methyl acrylate (MA). Then the hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched poly isocyanurate-ester with different generations (HPICEs) which were named as HPICE-I, HPICE-II and HPICE-III, were prepared respectively via three-(2-hydroxycthyl) isocyanurate (THEIC) and AB2 monomer in which THEIC was used as the core and AB2 monomer as the branching unit. The structure and mass of HPICEs were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectra (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectra (•H-NMR) and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). HPICEs were applied in the retanning process of wet blue leather. The results show that when the dosage of HPICEs retanning agent is 3% (basing on the weight of wet blue leather), the properties of leather retanned with HPICE-III are the best compared with those retanned with HPICE-I and HPICE-II. The thickening percentage of the back and belly were 14.88% and 20.54%, respectively. Compared with that of leather retanned with RST, a kind of acrylic retanning agent widely used in the market, the tearing strength, tensile strength and cracking strength of the leather retanned with HPICE-III are increased by 53.31%, 65.69% and 85.28% respectively. All the leather samples retanned by HPICEs exhibited better dry rub fastness but worse wet rub fastness than that retanned by RST. In addition, the samples present better surface properties as well. Vêtements en cuirIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Increasing environmental consciousness has impacted on the pollution caused by chrome tanning which has become a difficult problem requiring an urgent solution leading to studies on chrome-free tanning system. A new zirconium-oxazolidine combination tanning system has been developed. The amount of zirconium-oxazolidine has been optimized at 2.5 % and 3.0 % (based on limed weight of skins). The influence of ligands on the shrinkage temperature (Ts) of leathers has also been studied and zirconium-oxazolidine combination tanned leathers showed Ts above 92°C. Zirconium-oxazolidine tanned sheep garment leather is much whiter than the chrome tanned, being close to the standard whiteness. The degradation rate of zirconium-oxazolidine combination leather is 18.83 % after 45 days soil burial and is much quicker than that of chrome tanned leather which is 5.78 % after 45 days. SEM observation revealed that the non-degraded surface structure was more regular than that of chrome leather degraded for 30 days. The zirconium-oxazolidine combination tanned leather degraded more easily than chrome leather, which is of benefit for the sustainable development of the leather industry.
