Pression -- ContrôleIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The institute for plastics processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University is investigating a new control approach for injection molding in whch the cavity pressure is controlled by different positions of the hot runner valve pin. The influence on the cavity pressure of different strokes in the holding pressure phase is investigated. Note de contenu : - Control of cavity pressure directly at the gate
- The pressure level in the cavity decreases with smaller opening strokes
- Closing the pin : small pressure increase with each positioning step
- Opening the pin : slight pressure decrease with each travel step
- Figure : The experimental mold with the cavity of a bicycle saddle has a servo-electrically driven hot runner
- Fig. 1 : Two combined p/T sensors for internal pressure measurement are installed in the mold along the flow path
- Fig. 2 : Different opening strokes in the holding pressure phase influence the cavity pressure
- Fig. 3 : The narrowest cross-section in the hot runner is only affected in the last quarter before the pin closes completely
- Fig. 4 : Gradual closing of the hot runner only slightly influences the pressure curve
- Fig. 5 : When the hot runner is gradually opened during the holding pressure phase, a sink mark can be seen in the cavity pressure curve

Moules d'injectionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In the production of a safety-relevant car part, the issue of increased raw materials costs gave greater urgency to the question of whether, in view of the large sprue volume, direct gating might not be possible. In a joint development project, the plastics processor Lüttgens and Günther Heisskanaltechnik solved this challenge with a special 12-cavity hot-runner system with needle valves and drive via an actuator plate. PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Low assembly effort, often shorter production times and lower-cost parts production overall are the reasons why 2-component injection molding is often used in hard-soft material combinations, including in the production of seals, cable bushings and handles. If the core-back process is to be used for production, however, mold structure and hot runner system design will pose a challenge. Note de contenu : - Advantage 2-component - when it is done properly
- Bottleneck between the two components
- Two materials - one manifold block
- Core-back combined with ejector function
- Hot runner and mold expertise required
- Fig. 1 : The various cable bushinsgs with the TPE/PP material combination were injected in a family mold
- Fig. 2 : The cable bushing has to fulfil a comprehensive property profile, which has an obvious effect on product design and therefore also on the mold design
- Fig. 3 : Themold was designed as a family mold. The unusual order also posed a challenge, since "soft" (TPE) had to be injected before "hard" (PP)
- Fig. 4 : In order to achieve a flat height on the "hot half", both manifold systems were housed in a manifold block
- Fig. 5 : The front-mounted nozzles present the advantage that they have a closed sealing ring at the nozzle head. This design creates a barrier between the manifold and the nozzle cabling and thus offer the highest level of safety when it comes to the seal in the systemEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-jRl1Va__gLvHZ03aGODnzKz1LfcisDi/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=32141

Matières plastiques -- Moulage par injection
Moules d'injectionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The objective of the hot runner design is to ensure that all cavities are supplied with the same melt quality, filling and compression pressures and filling speeds without damaging the melt along the way. The distributor block plays a key role in this process, as it is responsible not only for melt transfer but also for distributing the melt to the individual cavities. Additive manufacturing enables significant improvements in this area – in several dimensions.
Note de contenu : - Manufacturing hot runner manifold blocks
- Challenges for manifolds that deviate from 2x cavities
- Experimental setup of a six-cavity test mold
- Numerical analysis of the conventional design
- Design of a three-dimensional manifold system
- Significantly faster purging process
- Fig. 1 : Possibilities of melt channel design for naturally balanced manifold blocks in dependence on manifold block manufacturing method
- Fig. 2 : The six-cavity test mold is used to produce simple closure caps as test specimens
- Fig. 3 : Meshing and results of the numerical study of the conventional manifold (double-Y system). In regions of melt division and deflection, zones of low velocity and low wall shear stress are found
- Fig. 4 : Simulation results of three-in-row distribution and comparison of wall shear stresses of drilled and additively manufactured manifold block
- Fig. 5 : Color exchange trials make clear that purging processes are much more effective on the additively manufactured manifold.
