QuebrachoLe quebracho est un arbre à écorce ligneuse, mesurant 30 mètres de haut, à feuilles tannées et à fleurs tubulées blanches.
Quebracho est l'un des noms communs, en espagnol, d'au moins trois espèces similaires d'arbres originaires du Gran Chaco, en Amérique latine : Schinopsis lorentzii (quebracho colorado santiagueño), de la famille des Anacardiaceae ; Schinopsis balansae (quebracho colorado chaqueño), de la même famille ;

Tannage Résumé : Dry tannage in drums using quebracho extract is a very interesting process because it permits one to obtain a sole of good quality in a short time. Nevertheless certain difficulties that do not exist in tannages using pits and drums arise, therefore a preliminary treatment of the pelt is very important to obtain the best results. Tannage au chromeIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : The reclaimed-water used for this study was the integrated treated tannery wastewater meeting the requirements specified in GB8978-1996 (GB8978-1996 is the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard promulgated by People’s Republic of China - see appendix). The influences of the contents of Ca2+, Mg2+ and NaCl along with the feasibility of recycling reclaimed-water for pickling and chrome-tanning were studied. The orthogonal and pilot experiments using split glaubered pigskins have demonstrated that, when the contents of Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the float reached 80mg/L and 30mg/L respectively there were no obvious influences on pickling and chrome tanning. However, when the level of NaCl reached 90 g/L, there was an adverse influence on the rate of chrome exhaustion. The trend of the influences of Ca2+, Mg2+ and NaCl on pickling and chrome-tanning was : NaCl>Mg2+>Ca2+. The rates of chrome exhaustion and the shrinkage temperature of the leathers tanned using the reclaimed-water were 97% and 103.7°C respectively. The physical and mechanical properties of these leathers were better than for the controls. The results suggested a potential for recycling reclaimed-water for pickling and chrome tanning of the split pigskin. Wet-blue (tannage)Peau tannée au chrome (le chrome donne une couleur bleue)Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : The chrome tanning process is the most popular tanning method but it results a considerable discharge of chromium to the wastewater. Various processes have been developed to increase the up-take of chromium by the hide with success, but there remains a major chromium discharge to the wastewater.
The wastewater from the tanning process can be reused directly or indirectly but these recycling processes can present problems related to the accumulation of undesirable substances (salts, fat, protein, etc.) and irregularities from batch to batch. The present work is devoted to the development of a direct recycling process that associates a high chromium up-take process with recycling to the pickling bath and then disposal of this bath after pickling.
A reduction of the chromium offer to between 4.5% and 5.5% is achieved, against typical values of between 7% and 8%. Good results are obtained for chromium discharge to the wastewater especially when the splitting is done in the lime state where values of chromium about 50 mg/L are obtained.Note de contenu : - Initial high exhaustion tannage

The application of these products yielded a significant reduction in salinity. In the case of sheepskins, the best results in terms of non-swelling capacity, shrinkage temperature, conductivity and Chemical Oxygen Demand of the residual baths corresponded to the pickling treatments carried out at a salinity of 2°Bé with a 2% offer of naphtol 3-6 disulphonic acid, or with a 2% offer of p-hydroxydiphenyl sulphonic acid, or with a 4% offer of polyacrylic acid. Tannage végétalIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Issues concerning salinity have been presented. The main source is salt dissolved from salt-preserved hides and skins, which has been discussed in the previous paper "Salinity in the tanning sector: outcome, responsibilities and action".
However, the pickling process generates 20% to 25% of the sodium chloride discharged from typical tannery. Some lowering is possible by recycling, but the level of pollution remains very significant.
A number of salt-free techniques have been developed as an alternative. These have been the subject of earlier publication in World Leather and are listed under Additional Information on page 20. [The numbers that appear in square brackets below refer to this list]. But there are other techniques that should be given an overview and some of these are presented in brief.Note de contenu : - Low float pickle systems within chrome tannage
