Le second groupe en importance de matériaux en silicone est celui des résines de silicone, formées par des oligosiloxanes ramifiés ou en forme de cage (wiki).Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Not only on Earth do elastomers make an important contribution to everyday life in demanding applications but they are also in demand for satellites or probes. Alongside typical worldly properties such as temperature and chemical resistance, materials deployed in space are subject to other conditions specific to this environment, such as enormous centrifugal and gravitational forces. These place special demands on the polymers we are familiar with. Note de contenu : - Technical space standards

The project's objectives were to develop material technologies for an ambitious high-temperature airframe component and address the requirements of affordability, temperature resistance, high specific strength, high stiffness and low weight. It was found that this technology is suitable for structural components for future long-range missiles. The project demonstrated the feasibility of manufacturing complex parts with the Pyromeral material technology. The demonstrator was successfully tested at ambient temperature to evaluate compliance with the design requirements. Note de contenu : - PyroKarb inorganic composite

Tannage Résumé : Two different samples of cow softy leather (identified as CSG0 and CSG3) were prepared from a cow wet-blue of Indian origin. CSG0 was the control sample and CSG3 had 3% glutaraldehyde added to the process. Other unit operations (physical and chemical) were the same in both samples. Thermal, mechanical and hydrodynamic swelling behaviour of these samples was studied in order to correlate it with the cross-linking densities of the samples.
The hydrodynamic swelling behavior was studied in three different solvents (viz. water, toluene and xylene), assuming definite solvent-bovine collagen interaction parameters, cross-link densities were evaluated by applying the Flory-Rehner equation.
Regarding the mechanical behaviour, some distinguished theoretical models (e.g. Mooney-Rivlin, Flory, and Martin, Roth & Stiehler (MRS)) were tried for fit with the results obtained in stress-strain analyses. A few constants for Cr-tanned cow leather were derived, the value of constant A in MRS equation remained in the range of 0.9-1.0 and constant B in Flory's equation remained in the range of 0.001-0.005, not reported previously in the literature. It was found that glutaraldehyde raised cross¬linking density of chrome-tanned leather from 2.59 x 10-3 mol.m-3 to 3.27 x 10-3 mol.m-3, which is reflected in CSG3 greater thermal resistance, but the physical degree of cross links, calculated from Flory-Rehner equation, decreases which is reflected in CSG3 poor solvent resistance in comparison to CSGo.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Materials - Preparation of samples - Characterization

Toiture -- Revêtements:Toiture -- PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Cool roof is a heat reducing and energy saving coating comprising of acrylic emulsion polymers, microspheres, properly selected and graded inert fillers light fast pigments additives and water. It is used as heat insulating and water proofing on roof tops and building walls which keeps reducing the power consumption, which in turn reduces the load on air-conditioners, which keeps the interior of the room cool in addition to water proofing effect. Certain special fillers like micro spheres and heat insulating/reflecting fillers are used to get optimum effect in heat reduction inside the rooms. These fillers have a special spherical shape to have maximum reflectance and very low thermal conductivity. Once applied they come Gloser to form a packed layer of hollow particles which acts as an excellent insulation medium and resists heat transfer. The layer thus formed lowers the thermal conductivity and keeps the interiors cooler by radiating most of the solar heat. Note de contenu : - Development of IR heat reflective coatings
