3-D printing for production / Andreas Fischer in KUNSTSTOFFE INTERNATIONAL, Vol. 105, N° 11 (11/2015)
[article]
Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : 3-D printing is increasingly being touted as the ultimate solution for the production world of the future. It remains to be seen whether that is justified – at any rate the bandwidth of applications and technical developments continues to grow steadily. That applies particularly to the possibilities of additive manufacturing with thermoplastics – recently also with endless-fiber-reinforcement. Note de contenu : - Several established processes
- The "Trinity" of part requirements
- Variations with hollow structures and endless fibers

To ensure that a tripod remains attractive and universally useful, an ability to make quick adjustments is hugely important – this is the perfect scenario for 3D printing. In the article, it is shown that the incorporation of a 3-dimensional (3D) textile structure in geosynthetics reduces soil erosion and that such structures are economically feasible to manufacture. PolymèresIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : 3D industrial printing has become mainstream in manufacturing. This unique book is the first to focus on polymers as the printing material.
The scientific literature with respect to 3D printing is collated in this monograph. The book opens with a chapter on foundational issues such and presents a broad overview of 3D printing procedures and the materials used therein. In particular, the methods of 3d printing are discussed and the polymers and composites used for 3d printing are detailed.
The book details the main fields of applications areas which include electric and magnetic uses, medical applications, and pharmaceutical applications. Electric and magnetic uses include electronic materials, actuators, piezoelectric materials, antennas, batteries and fuel cells. Medical applications are organ manufacturing, bone repair materials, drug-eluting coronary stents, and dental applications. The pharmaceutical applications are composite tablets, transdermal drug delivery, and patient-specific liquid capsules.
A special chapter deals with the growing aircraft and automotive uses for 3D printing, such as with manufacturing of aircraft parts and aircraft cabins. In the field of cars, 3D printing is gaining importance for automotive parts (brake components, drives), for the fabrication of automotive repair systems, and even 3D printed vehicles.Note de contenu : - 1. Modélisation par dépôt en fusionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Is there a quantum leap on the horizon for 3D printing? The prototype of a newly developed 3D printer is able to process commercial pellets – also those of high-performance plastics such as PEEK, PPS, PSU, PA and PC, with or without fibers. The machine applies the usual strand-deposition process, though with a simply designed print head that includes a radial screw. Note de contenu : - Downsides of filament printers
- Print head for an ingenious twist
- Axial approach bound to fail
- What makes welded joints so strong
- Unbeatable price
- FIGURES : 1. The prototype of the 3D printer, which is able to process commercial pellets. Inert gas prevents oxidation of the plastic melt - 2. Attached to a disk, the spiral drives the plastic from the outside to the inside, towards the nozzle outlet. A force acting upon the disk from above controls the pressure between disk and the opposite area where the outlet is, and therefore the plastic extrusion process itselfEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DpJZLjTMehJCKGfEFpSfURhfWLb-TWf9/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=29284
