SmectiteIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Hybrid organic/inorganic coatings provide effective barriers to gas transmission and therefore find utility in a variety of application areas, including surface treatment of foams for thermal insulation purposes. Blends of aqueous latexes with select smectite clays are particularly attractive, in that the efficient formation of layered interconnecting networks occurs upon drying. The plate-like structure of clays enables this behavior at relatively low volumetric content of inorganic material. A variety of both natural and synthetically derived high purity clays are evaluated for their ability to form low permeability films, with effects of loading, aspect ratio, and refinement technique described. ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Benzoflex 2088 performs well in latex adhesives. This new plasticizer allows the formulator to develop new adhesive products that will solve problems. The blend is available on a global basis and its unique physical nature and low volatility makes Benzoflex 2088 an attractive alternative to existing phthalates and other benzoate esters used to formulate latex adhesives. VernisIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) clearcoats have been used for over 20 years to extend the service life of architectural coil coatings, and new waterborne PVDF technology now provides a low-VOC route to extend the same protective properties to hear-sensitive substrates of all types, including flexible PVC, base coat paints containing organic pigments, and wood. The use of organic and inorganic UV absorbers can provide a further level of substrates protection in these systems, but for truly-term UV protection, the chemistry of the UV absorber itself within the topcoat also needs to be considered. In particular, we will present some surprising results, comparing the performance of organic and inorganic nanoparticle UV absorbers in PVDF latex coatings. Viscosité BrookfieldIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The latest development of a non-gelling nonionic surfactant can be used as a post-add stabiliser.
The newly developed non-gelling nonionic surfactant class Disponil NRG can be used as universal co-surfactant and post-add stabiliser in emulsion polymerisation reactions. Its superior physical properties such as the low pour points and the absence of gel phases during dilution makes it a product of choice.Note de contenu : - FIGURES : 1.
