MesureIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Currently there are no official methods to allow measurement of the surface friction of leather. The parameter of surface friction will have an important influence on the aesthetic evaluation of leather, and so research was undertaken to quantify this parameter. Work has been undertaken to investigate the parameters which influence the measurement of surface friction.
A method was developed which used the technique whereby a materials tester is used to pull a sled (around which was fixed the leather) across a reference material. Various parameters that could influence the test method were investigated and as a result, optimisation of the testing procedure was possible.Note de contenu : - Evaluation of parameters thought likely to affect the test

Essais dynamiquesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Currently the measurement of leather compressibility can only be evaluated manually using a standard substance gauge. The parameter of leather compressibility will have an important influence on the aesthetic evaluation of the leather. Research was carried out which used a materials tester to compress the leather with a cylindrical probe. Various parameters that could influence the test method were investigated and the test method was optimised. Note de contenu : - Effect of probe size

LastomètreIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Research has been carried out to investigate the measurement of bagginess or the retained set of leather. The method is based on the principles of the lastometer test allowing multi-directional set to be evaluated, which is thought to be more closely related to the behaviour of leather in wear than a measure of linear set. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : BLC has developed a method for the non-destructive measurement of leather softness ; the portable device works on a similar principle to the lastometer, clamping and applying a load to the leather with the resultant distension giving an indication of leather softness. The load applied is typically in the order of 500 g thereby not causing any damage to the leathers.
In trials the gauge has been shown to give a good correlation between measurements and softness as graded by hand and has proved to be as reliable as any destructive method presently used for measuring leather softness.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GjRzhCdXyRMobZ8BlZ-ABMPQoP2sQb8J/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8436

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : This research concerns an investigation into the impregnation of leather with a polyurethane emulsion as a means of strengthening the grain layer and the grain - corium junction. Since three quaters of the leather produced is used for the manufacture of shoes, a possible application of this research could be the development of direct sticking of shoe uppers to soles without the need for thr current abrasion process.
It was hypothesized tha modification of the leather fiber surface properties to more closely match the polyurethane impregnant would result in an increase in leather strength. It was determined experimentally that the polymer was hydrophobic and so the leather was treated with a waterproofing agent to result in surfaces that were more alikeNote de contenu : - MODIFICATION OF THE POLYMER6LEATHER INTERACTION: Introduction - Method - Results
