The synthesised compounds were characterised and confirmed by Fourier Transform–infrared spectroscopy and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In addition, the physical, biodegradable and dyeing-assisting properties of CPm were evaluated through comparison with tristyrylphenol ethoxylates (A typical commercial surfactant). Results revealed that CPm showed a higher hydroxyl value, better dispersing capability and a higher migration percentage than tristyrylphenol ethoxylates. Specifically, CP5 (0.5 g/L) improved the migration percentage by 12.03% compared with tristyrylphenol ethoxylates. The migration performance of the surfactants followed a descending order of CP5 > CP7 > CP9 > tristyrylphenol ethoxylates. Importantly, CP5 displays a higher degradation propensity than tristyrylphenol ethoxylates, demonstrating its biodegradable merit. In summary, the cardanol-based polyethoxylates synthesised through this research are promising biodegradable and effective alternatives to conventional levelling agents for disperse dyeing, which contributes a new strategy to the sustainable development of the textile industry. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A series of vegetable oil-based nonionic Gemini surfactant (GPNGS) was prepared using grape seed oil and polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (350, 550, 750) as the primary raw materials. The chemical structures of different types of GPNGS were characterised by Fourier Transform–infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, proton nuclear magnetic resonance and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of GPNGS with different polyoxyethylene chain lengths was measured using the Wilhelmy ring method (CMC: ca. 1.4 × 10−4 to 5 × 10−4 mol/L). The results of wettability testing showed that the contact angle of GPNGS on polyamide film was ca. 46-49°. In addition, the interaction of surfactants with acid dyes was also investigated. The ultraviolet spectrum showed a balance between dyes, surfactants and the dye/surfactant complex. Next, the GPNGS was used as a nylon 66 acid dye levelling agent. After adding 0.2 mmol/L of surfactants, the standard deviations (S(λ)) of nylon 66 dyeing decreased from 0.084 to ca. 0.036-0.044, exhibiting a good levelling effect. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A novel group of nonionic gemini surfactant (GTPEA) with ethylidene spacer structure was prepared from glucose-lactone, triethylenetetramine, alkyl epoxy polyether and acyl chloride of different alkyl chain lengths. The chemical structure of GTPEA were characterised by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). The thermal properties of the three surfactants were characterised by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The critical micelle concentrations (cmc values) of GTPEA with different hydrophobic chain lengths were measured using the Wilhelmy plate method (cmc: 1.58 × 10−5 to 5.01 × 10−6 mol/L). The solubilisation, emulsification and solubilisation performance tests showed the excellent surface properties of nonionic gemini surfactants. GTPEA-12 with a hydrophobic carbon chain length of 12 carbon atoms was selected to explore the dispersing performance of surfactants on disperse dyes and the levelling performance of polyester fibre disperse dyes. The test results have shown that the dispersion force was 96%, and the particle size of 0.1 g disperse dye was 196 nm in 100 ml of 4 g/L GTPEA-12 solutions. Finally, GTPEA-12 was used as a levelling agent in the dispersion dyeing of polyester fabrics. GTPEA-12 of 0.1 g/L can provide an excellent levelling effect of S(λ) = 0.026 for polyester and has little impact on the colour yield (K/S = 5.0) of polyester fabric. Note de contenu :
