LiantsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : SUSBIND (or SUStainable bio-BINDers for furniture) is a collaborative European project in the field of bioeconomy with 11 partners from 6 EU countries, from both research and industry. SUSBIND's highly sustainable biobased binders should replace conventional fossil-based binders currently used for wood-based panel boards in furniture mass products. By substituting fossil-based chemicals with those from renewable resources, the carbon footprint of furniture products will be reduced.
The expertise brought together within the SUSBIND project will finally see the development of a biobased binder able to compete on an industrial scale. As we become increasingly demanding of green production methods in all areas, SUSBIND will provide Europe with a competitive advantage," said the Scientific Co-ordinator of Cargill, Massimo Bregola.Note de contenu : - Carbohydrates as green raw material for reactive intermediates
