Matériaux hybridesIndex. décimale : 620.11 Matériaux (propriétés, résistance) Résumé : This paper describes a series of investigations specifically designed to evaluate commercially-available bio-sourced sandwich materials combining thermoset-based resin matrices, natural fibres and cork cores, intended for marine structures. The aim was, first, to evaluate the properties of these materials with respect to currently-used marine composites in order to examine equivalent dimensions for different boat structures, and then to access a number of aspects affecting durability such as wet ageing and impact damage. Examples of structures are given. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16269

Cork is a unique material obtained from the bark of Quercus Suber L. and has been used since a long time. Processing of harvesting is respectful for the tree and necessary to maintain its physiological functions completely. Cork is not only destinated for the wine industry but is also important for other areas. In the upcycling movement, and for its multiple benefits in the ecosystem and environmentally friendly, the creation of an exfoliating agent was made. A clinical study of Exfobreezeâ„¢ (Quercus Suber Bark), has been done, with the aim of demonstrating the exfoliating capacity of cork particles, and therefore an effective alternative to microplastic scrubs. PolyestersIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : This paper presents an experimental investigation of damage in sandwich structures. These sandwich panels are result of the combination of glass-polyester as skins and cork agglomerate as core. For this purpose, delamination test (mode I) is carried on double cantilever beams (DCB) in sandwich beams. The initiation crack is characterized by toughness obtained from the determination of energy release rate (GIC) by modified beam theory method. The skins of these sandwiches are considered as orthotropic materials while the core as isotropic transverse material. The results show that, the energy release rate at the initiation of the crack of (DCB) specimens remains almost constant despite the variation of the initial crack, a good adhesion (skins - core) is also noticed. Rigidité (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The date palm is a giant plant that must be cleaned annually, which can be the first source various raw materials compared to other woods that are cleaned once every four years, such as cork. In Algeria, there are millions of palm trees that produce a significant amount of raw materials annually, but unfortunately they are not exploited in industry. This paper presents an experimental study on mechanical behaviour of four bio-sourced sandwich materials differentiated by their core types. The skins of these sandwiches are made composite material composed of rachis fibers and epoxy resin; however the cores are made of: 1) raw petiole and petiole agglomerate with two sizes (0 -1 mm and 1-3 mm) and 2) cork agglomerate for comparison. The comparison between these sandwiches is based on the overall stiffness which is determined by three point bending tests. The results obtained for all sandwich materials show that the overall stiffness of the Petiole agglomerate with the size (0mm-1mm)/rachis fibers-epoxy resin is higher than the other sandwiches. Thus, we have carried out a complementary damage study to this last sandwich material based on delamination tests. It turns out through this study the good resistance of this new sandwich to delamination compared to other previously studied materials.
