MesureIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : F-44 phenolic epoxy fibers were produced through high-temperature dry spinning utilizing F-44 phenolic epoxy resin as the base material, combined with n-butanol and ethylenediamine (EDA) as the curing agent. The fibers were subsequently analyzed for their structural, thermal stability, microstructural, and mechanical properties using techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, micro-infrared imaging, thermogravimetric analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning electron microscopy, and fiber strength testing. The limitations of phenolic resins, including high brittleness, poor toughness, and low elongation at break, restrict their potential applications, necessitating modifications to broaden their utility. Research findings indicate that modifying EDA induces a ring-opening reaction of epoxy groups, thereby enhancing the resin’s structure and improving the thermal stability and mechanical properties of fibers. The thermal stability and mechanical strength of the fibers were optimized at an EDA concentration of 2.0 wt% and curing time of 30 min, resulting in a tensile strength of 105 MPa and an elongation at break of 27.6 %. The extent of dye-fibre covalent bonding (% fixation) was measured on prints produced using different development methods. The most promising method to obtain high dye-fibre fixation values was to interleave the printed wool with a pre-wetted cotton fabric and store for 3 h. Steam fixation was also investigated but gave lower fixation values. The degree of dye hydrolysis vs time in the ink formulation was evaluated because ink stability is critical in commercial operation ; a reformulated ink based on a phosphate buffer was found to improve ink stability. TriéthanolamineIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, size-tunable magnetite (Fe3O4) nanocrystal spheres were promptly synthesized by a facile one-pot solvothermal process with the presence of triethanolamine as an additive. The as-synthesized Fe3O4 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results showed that the synthesized nanoparticles were in the size range of 30–350 nm, had well-defined Fe3O4 crystal phase, and had favorable saturation magnetization. The effects of various important parameters, such as initial Cr(VI) concentration, temperature, and pH, on the adsorption properties of the as-obtained Fe3O4 particles for the removal of Cr(VI) in aqueous solution were deeply analyzed and studied. The results confirmed that the adsorption efficiency was highly pH dependent, decreased with the increasing of initial concentration of Cr(VI), and increased with increasing temperature. The adsorption data were well fitted with the Langmuir isotherm. The maximum adsorption capacity calculated from the Langmuir isotherm was 56.625 mg g−1 at temperature of 35°C and pH of 2.0.
