Enzymes protéolytiquesUne enzyme protéolytique est une enzyme capable de couper une protéine en plusieurs fragments ou peptides. La trypsine, la papaïne, la pepsine, la chymotrypsine, la plasmine, la subtilisine... sont capables de couper une protéine, chaque enzyme étant spécifique de certains sites particuliers de cette protéine. C'est ainsi, par exemple, qu'une immunoglobuline G est découpée par la papaïne en un fragment Fc et deux fragments Fab, comme l'a montré Porter en 1959.

Spectroscopie RamanIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Chemical and physical changes take place when hides and skins are processed to leather that affect the quality and strength of the material. Understanding the structure at each leather-making stage is the basis of this study but also intend to improve the process through a biochemical approach, employing a proteolytic enzyme for processing leather more cleanly with reduced environmental impact. Raman and ATR-FTIR spectroscopy in conjunction with chemometrics was used to investigate each leather-making stage from fresh green cattle hide to dry crust leather. The changes in proteins, lipids, nucleic acids and other biomolecules with leather processing was measured and reported using three novel Raman ratiometric markers, 920/1476, 1345/1259 and 1605/1476 cm-1, to discriminate the structural changes in collagen of hide using standard chemical and enzymatic method. Amide I band was deconvoluted to investigate thecollagen secondary structures using curve fitting by Gaussians function. The results of Principal Component Analysis are well-corroborated with the ratiometric markers of structural changes. CarbènesLe carbène est une molécule organique contenant un atome de carbone divalent.
Des règles IUPAC précises permettent de les nommer1.
Très stable dans un environnement tétravalent, le carbone peut également adopter un mode de liaison divalent. On lui attribue alors un doublet non liant et une lacune électronique.
Les carbènes sont en général utilisés comme intermédiaires réactionnels dans quelques réactions chimiques, où leur très forte instabilité permet de rendre réactives des fonctions relativement inertes. En particulier, ils peuvent réagir avec un alcène afin de générer un motif cyclopropane, ou s'insérer dans une liaison C-C ou C-H. Naturellement instables, les carbènes peuvent acquérir une certaine stabilité en s'associant à des métaux de transition pour former des complexes métallo-carbènes. La double liaison carbone-métal formée dans ce type de composés permet de stabiliser temporairement le carbène.
La formation des carbènes est souvent effectuée à partir de composés diazo. La libération d'une molécule de diazote permet alors d'obtenir le carbone divalent.
Croûte (cuir)On entend par "cuir en croûte" des cuirs ayant subi les opérations jusqu'au tannage, à l'exclusion de toute opération de corroyage ou de finissage, mais qui, par opposition aux wet-blue ont été séchés.

Taille des particulesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Fatliquoring is an important step of post tanning process of leather manufacturing where incorporation of self-emulsified oil (lubricant) makes the leather soft. There are several methods which introduce polarity into oil and provide the path where reactive species of modified oil can interact with water which leads to form a fatliquor. The aim of this work is to introduce an extra polarity into the fatty acid moiety through chemical modification of castor oil by carbene intermediate. The spectroscopic characterisation such as FTIR,
1H-NMR and 13C-NMR of fatliquor have been carried out. Particle size analysis of fatliquor has also been done. The experimental leathers have been tested for physical strength characterisation such as tensile and tear strength verses control and found to have better properties than control. SEM analysis for morphological study of experimental leather were also carried out which clearly indicates the uniform dispersion of fiber bundles due to the fine distribution of the novel and self-emulsifying fatliquor throughout the matrix.Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Materials - Preparation of novel fatliquor

Stabilisants (chimie)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Insoluble sulfur (IS) is prepared at low temperature with graphene oxide (GO) as stabilizer and ammonium persulfate as initiator. The FTIR and Raman patterns show that the non-conjugate double bond of GO can couple to the long chain free radicals of IS. The TGA and EDS results show that the mass fraction of IS is 79.75 wt% in particles by refluxing method, much higher than that in particles by hydrothermal method, when the mass ratio in reactants of GO to sulfur was 3: 1. Under constant content of sulfur, the tensile stress and elongation at break of NBR/GO-S(h) and NBR/GO-S(r) composites are higher than those of NBR/Reduced GO composites with the addition of 3 phr GO-S(h), GO-S(r) and Reduced GO particles into NBR. It can provide a new technology for the preparation of IS with lower temperature, little energy consumption and less environmental pollution. It is also a new method for the modification and application of GO in rubber. Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Resins have been widely used in a variety of industry fields for more than a century, such as coatings, adhesives, or automotive. Their low cost and workability are extremely useful in creating more and more advanced materials due to their chemical structure (Ghaffari et al. in Surf Interfaces 17:100340, 2019). Common problem today is the wetting tendency of various materials which in the end can result in further damage in the structure because of atmospheric conditions. Nowadays, scientists are trying to find better ways to improve the properties of coatings or composites in cases like hydrophobicity or icephobicity. One of the examp les are fluorinated organic compounds with good linking properties to the substrate (Qin et al. in Mater Today Commun 22:100770, 2020). Because o f that, to im prove the properties of a basic epoxy resin, its chain has been modified with hydrophobic compounds with different chain lengths. Influence of modifiers’ molecule size on hydrophobic and ice adhesion properties of obtained epoxy resins has been tested. Chemical composition of prepared coatings was analyzed by FTIR. Moreover, their thermal stability was investigated using TG and DSC measurements. Additionally, wettability of the samples was analyzed with a goniometer. Furthermore, their ice adhesion tests were performed on a dedicated apparatus. As a result, presented work provides a critique overview and concept of promising icephobic and hydrophobic coatings in the industry. Moreover, these products have a high chance to be developed further.
