Résumé : |
A new, partially bio-based water-borne binder can be used to formulate coatings for architectural and industrial wood that contain a significant proportion of renewable carbon content derived from non-fossil-based resources. These coatings offer a viable alternative to petro-chemical-based systems with comparable performance. Their use also presents a step towards a circular economy. |
Note de contenu : |
- Strong demand for bio-based raw materials
- Monomeric building blocks from biological sources
- Easily combined for formulation fredom
- Novel binder lowers product carbon footprint
- Comparable resistance to fossil-based standard coatings
- Suitable for fast-drying systems and primer applications
- Fog high-gloss furniture topcoats
