Silicones -- Suppression ou remplacementIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : We have developed a bio-emollient as a sustainable solution to those consumers who are looking to replace volatile silicone-based products but do not want to lose performance. It offers the same benefits as volatile silicones such as Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), but without non-biodegradable and bioaccumulative drawbacks
Due to safety and environmental concerns, volatile Cyclomethicone, like Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), is restricted in personal care applications. Consumers are looking for new alternatives that are more natural and biodegradable to replace silicone-based products while maintaining the same performance.
SilSenseâ„¢ Bio 5 emollient, hereafter known as the bio-emollient, is a naturally derived, biodegradable, highly pure, and volatile emollient to be used as a silicone alternative to Cyclopentasiloxane D5 in leave-on applications, with a similar performance and sensory feel. It is a cross-category ingredient, with excellent performance in hair care and hair colour, makeup, skin care, and sun care applications. In addition, it may be considered microbiome friendly.
From a chemical standpoint, the bio-emollient is a sustainable bio-alkane, derived from a non-GMO, 100% vegetable oil, which is traceable to plantations. It is manufactured using an eco-friendly, solvent-free process without generating waste or by-products. Green energy sources are used throughout the manufacturing process, and the only two co-products generated - glycerin and methanol – are recuperated and reused. All this leads to a high-purity product manufactured sustainably.Note de contenu : - HAIR CARE : Sensory performance of hair oil - Volume & frizz control of hair oil - Protection against heat treatments - Hair colour – softness - Scalp care (in vivo)

With a considerable traditional knowledge behind it, the mushroom represents an interesting botanical ingredient with suggested effects in counteracting skin ageing, A new shiitake mushroom-based extract has been recently launched with a specific focus on new targets of the collagen lifecycle, key for a proper protein functionality. The ingredient showed to improve the quality of collagen, while reducing its deterioration and providing a complete care of this important protein for a firmer and younger skin. Vieillissement cutané -- PréventionIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : We explains how its hydrophilic peptide can prevent the emergence of expression wrinkles that might appear in the future, without negatively affecting facial expressions.
Younger generations are transforming the beauty industry. They are digital natives that continuously investigate cosmetics - their ingredients and their science - turning them to ‘skintellectual’ consumers. For example, there is increased chatter on social media about the mechanism of action leading to wrinkle formation.
As a result, more consumers are aware that repeated facial movements produced by daily expressions cause the contraction of the facial muscles, leading to an increased visibility of expression wrinkles. Indeed, there is some evidence to suggest that inhibiting this effect at an early stage may function as a preventative solution to slow down the signs of ageing.
Until now, active ingredient solutions that target the contraction of facial muscles like the hydrophilic peptide, Argireline® peptide, which was the first cosmetic peptide able to inhibit the facial muscular contraction by the destabilization of the SNARE complex, have focused on the reduction of visibility of wrinkles already formed. Therefore, we have created Argireline YOUth peptide, hereafter known as the new active ingredient, to meet the preventative ageing needs of younger consumers.
This active ingredient contains the recognized hydrophilic peptide in an enhanced delivery system that makes it highly suitable for the unique formulation requirements and usage habits of younger consumers. Indeed, the new active ingredient has proven efficacy in two oil-based formulations, one for makeup and one for skincare, targeting the areas of greatest concern among younger groups.Note de contenu : - Development of the enhanced delivery system
