The study of moisture permeability is very important. In this paper, the effects of temperature and humidity on the moisture permeability of three kinds of leather were studied. The results showed that the moisture permeability of the three kinds of leather increased with the increase of temperature, and the rising trends of pigskin and sheepskin were similar. When the temperature was greater than 20°C, their order of moisture permeability was cowhide > pigskin > sheepskin. With the increase of humidity, the moisture permeabilities of the three kinds of leather were close to each other, the changing trend of moisture permeability of pigskin and sheepskin was very similar. The moisture permeability of sheepskin is greatest at high humidity. By comparing the 3d surface and the mathematical model, it was found that humidity has a greater influence on its moisture permeability than temperature. PerméabilitéIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : This paper mainly studied the relationship between moisture permeability, thickness and temperature of cattle and sheep leather. The arrangement of protein fibres was obtained by scanning electron microscope and the effect of temperature on the moisture permeability of cattle and sheep leather was analysed from the microscopic point of view. The fitting equation of the relationship between moisture permeability of cow and sheep leather and thickness and temperature at one atmospheric pressure was obtained.
Cow leather equation: Yl = —0.07556x2 .2099xT + 0.03592T2 + 0.4021x — 2.579T + 60.04
Sheep leather equation: = —0.05995x2-0.1565xT + 0.0316672 + 3.475x — 2.254T + 47.34
The automatic generation curve of temperature, thickness and moisture permeability was established by MATLAB, and the moisture permeability of sheepskin and cowhide under the condition of unknown temperature and thickness can be predicted.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Experimental instruments - Experimentals materials

Wet-white (tannage)Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : A novel wet-white tanning approach based on combination tanning with tannic acid (TA) and Laponite nanoclay has been proposed. Thermal stability measurements show that the introduction of Laponite nanoclay gives an obvious increase in the shrinkage temperature (Ta) cf TA-tanned leather, implying the presence of the synergistic effect between TA and Laponite nanoclay in the combination tanning process. The optimized tanning system, i.e. 20% TA combination tanned with 3% Laponite in one-bath for 3 hours al 25°C and final pH '-3.5, confers wet-white leathers with Ta above 89°C, and good storage stability. The introduction of Laponite nanoclay facilitates the fixation of TA in the wet-white leather. Scanning electron microscopie (SEM) results show that the combination tanned leathers exhibit fine isolated collagen fibre networks in cornparison with that of solo TA and solo Laponite tanned leather. The presence of Laponite nanoclay not only improves the mechanical strength of the resulting leather, but also gives an ultraviolet protection property. PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Natural leather has good moisture permeability, while polyurethane film has good elasticity and water resistance. In order to study the change trend of moisture permeability of natural leather and polyurethane-coated natural leather, this paper tested the moisture permeability of sheepskin and polyurethane-coated sheepskin under different time and temperature conditions. The results showed that the moisture permeability of sheepskin and PU-coated sheepskin increased with the increase of temperature. The moisture permeability of the two leather was: sheepskin>PU-coated sheepskin. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Experimental materials and instruments - Moisture permeability test

Revêtements en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The fracture strength of thin leather is an important indicator of the longevity of leather for apparel. The same cattle leather was cut into 6 thicknesses and waterborne PU (WPU) modified with 4 mass fractions of Si02 was then applied on the leather for tensile comparison. The results showed that the fracture strength of cattle leather differed significantly between the transverse and longitudinal directions. The fracture strength of the cattle leather was greater in the transverse direction than in the longitudinal when the thickness was less than 0.65mm, the longitudinal fracture strength is greater the transverse strength when the thickness is between 0.65mm and 0.8mm,and the transverse strength was greater than the longitudinal strength is thicker than 0.8mm.
The effect of the different mass fractions of Si02 modified WPU coating on the fracture strength did not show any significant difference. The regression equation of the effect of thickness and mass fraction of Si02 in modified WPU on the fracture strength of cattle leather was established based on the principle of least squares and surface plots were made. It was found that thickness had a greater influence on the fracture strength of cattle leather than coating modification.Note de contenu : - RESEARCH THEORY
