ZéolitesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The leather industry transforms raw hides into leather by mechanical and chemical processes. The main chemical process is the tanning in which the fibers are stabilized and cannot putrefy. To this end, different chemicals can be used that are capable of forming crosslinkages between collagen molecules. In this sense, the most used products are: chromium salts, aluminum, vegetable tannins, synthetics, aldehydes, resins and silicates. In this work, a new biodegradable tanning process based on zeolites was studied in two steps. In the first one, a tanning process for sheepskins and cow hides was developed. In the second one, three types of retanning process to obtain shoe upper, vegetable and leather goods were studied. This new system allows to obtain leather that can decompose naturally in a relative short period of time. Leather tanned with this system shows similar values to the biodegradability of pure collagen.
Specifically, with the retanning system used for shoe upper allows to obtain a 74.4% relative biodegradability compared to pure collagen.Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Zeolites tanning process - Study of three types of retanning for the new tanning system

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : This work is focused on the influence of tanning, the type of finishing, presence of carbon black and humidity on the electric conductivity of leather measured as semi-discharge time using a Rothschild Static Voltmeter. It isobserved that the presence of humidity is the determining factor in the electrical conductivity of leather and that the influence of the other factors (tanning, type of finishing and carbon black) must be measured on dry leather. Chrome tanning and carbon black improve the electric conductivity of leather as does mixed and cationic finishing. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Fashion in footwear is ever-changing and often leads to compromises in quality of shoes and footwear. In other words, the design and performance characteristics are rarely paid adequate attention. It is not surprising that the published literature on shoe and footwear design with respect to performance characteristics is scanty (Lokanatham et al., Maddams, and Maeser which deal with the lastability method method, the seam durability tests using various threads inupper closing. To the best of our knowledge there is no published data available on the effect of decorations on the shoe uppers on the mechanical properties of the upper's such as the tensile and lasting strengths.
In the present study, the effects of single, double and zigzag decorative stitches on the tensile strength, elongation at break and lasting strength have been investigated.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W2YssRi_YjlcwUF3bOBkUTrz4BbUOA76/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9413

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Since upholstery leather is considered a very high-tech product, a long service life is expected by the costumer. However, this type of leather can undergo extreme environmental conditions that may cause premature ageing. This work deals with the study of the effect of temperature, relative humidity, and UV radiation on leather ageing. Leathers with wet-white tannage were exposed to weathering effects using a climatic chamber in order to identify the most important variables affecting this weathering process and to check for interactions. Both a multilevel centralized factorial experimental design and an analysis of variance (ANOVA) have been employed as statistical tools for estimating the effects of the parameters. Bailey, Auteur ; Meral Birbir, Auteur Année de publication : 1993 Article en page(s) : p. 291-299 Note générale : bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The quality of leather manufactured from brine-cured cattle hides is known to deteriorate on prolonged storage of the untanned hides, particularly at elevated temperatures. This deteriotation is probably due to the presence of proteolytic enzymes produced by microorganisms growing on the hide.Extensive research has been done on the identification of halophilic organisms in hides cured with solid salt, but much less information is available on the extremely halophilic organisms found on commercially brine-cured hides.
Brine-cured cattle hide samples were obtained from several commercial brine-curing operations over a period of one year. One hundred and thirty one samples were analyzed for halotorant, slightly, moderately, and extremely halophilic organisms.Halophilic organisms of all three types as well as halotolerant organisms were found on almost every brine-cured cattle hide sample tested.More than half of the 332 extremely halophilic isolates tested positive for proteolytic activity based on a gelatin plate assay. The majority of the proteolytic positive isolates appeared to be archaeobacteria, based on antibiotic sensitivity and lipid analysis.Measurement of the growth of four randomly selected isolates over a wide range of temperatures indicates that these organisms grow rapidly at elevated temperatures(35-42°C) and warrants further investigation to assess these organisms as a source of hide damage.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jGeubOMCAzKb0qDA4nQkhh_7ZoHW1aQM/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8162
