Résumé : |
Elevated temperature in combination with excessive precipitation, humidity or moisture creates ideal conditions for fungal and algal proliferation on coatings. In order to maximise the longevity of coatings under such conditions, coating manufacturers have to develop robust formulations containing algicidal and fungicidal actives. Evaluation of resistance to biological defacement on a given coating is achieved by a combination of accelerated laboratory tests and prolonged field exposure evaluations in selected locations to account for regional climatic conditions and microflora. This paper covers results of field evaluations. |
