Résumé : |
Today’s printed electronics on injection molded parts always have a multi-layer structure. Decor films are back-molded using the FIM process, and the electronic functions are applied via an additional rear backing film. Now, new materials permit the integration of both layers on a three-dimensional shaped film with decor and imprinted circuits. This enables off-tool functional decor components to be produced by the subsequent injection molding process. |
Note de contenu : |
- Film and process a trickly development project
- Functional demonstrator with sliders and buttons
- Checking thermal and mechanical stresses of the film inlay
- Reliable signal processing
- FIGURES : 1. Heyco screen prints the films as a preliminary stage for film insert molding (FIM) - 2. Electronic function imprint of the Heyco demonstrator prior to forming. The layout contains a wheel, several buttons, and a flextail at the side - 3. The printed films are formed three-dimensionally in a high-pressure shaping rocess (Niebling HPF process). For this, precisely matched process control and a high degree of processing know-how are essential - 4. Track widths and layer heights of the printed structures were dimensioned with type IM 6120 optical comparators - 5. Components with optical 3D effect. Due to the combination of several films, the symbols seem to float plastically in front of a rear decor |
