When planning multi-cavity injection molds for the spray nozzle and the central valve of the pumping mechanism for a new trigger sprayer version packaging specialist Guala Dispensing worked closely with hot runner supplier Ewikon and the mold makers Abazia and BLT to find a solution for a cost-effective mass production with high process reliability. For both cases, the usage of a valve gate makes an ideal solution for the application requirements. |

- FIGURES : 1. 21-drop production mold for the nozzle. In each case 4 cavities are grouped in one mold insert. The valve gate nozzle (HPS III-MH) is placed in the center - 2. The valve which is made from EVA is gated on the outer ring - 3. The HPS III-S nozzle with 3 mm flow channel diameter and compact coil heater. The outer diameter is 10 mm - 4. The slimline design of the HPS III-S nozzle requires a bore of only 12 mm for installation. This allow optimal construction of the cavity cooling and venting - 5. The gating point position of the PE nozzle is on the front side of the part - 6. Since the available space is restricted by core inserts using the valve gate version of the HPS III-MH multi tip nozzle was the only option to reach the gating point - 7. Hot runner system design.
