Ions métalliquesIndex. décimale : 631.7 Conservation des eaux Résumé : An efficient fluorescent probe 1 based on tricarbocyanine derivative was designed and synthesized, which can detect Ag+ in real industrial wastewater. UV-Vis absorption and fluorescent emission spectra of probe 1 were carried out and indicated this probe can bind Ag+ via complexation reaction, then leading to a remarkable color change from blue to light red. Furthermore, probe 1 showed high sensitive performance and excellent selectivity toward Ag+ over other common metal ions in neutral pH. The sensing mechanism was proposed and further confirmed by 1H NMR, which demonstrate analyte-induced destruction of the π-electron system could be shorten by the disruption of the pull-push π-conjugation system in probe 1. Moreover, a test strip was prepared by filter paper immersing in probe 1 solution, which further provide its potential application for trace Ag+ detection in real industrial wastewater.

RuthéniumIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Sensitive coatings are described for a novel enzyme-based optical sensor for in-situ continuous monitoring of reactants, such as glucose, in biotechnological production processes. Glucose oxidase, incorporated into suitable coating materials that are applied on lenses or optical fibers, is used to catalyze oxidization of glucose to gluconic acid in the presence of oxygen. The presence and consumption of oxygen is determined by measuring the fluorescence signal of incorporated metal organic ruthenium complexes, which is quenched by oxygen. Inorganic–organic hybrid polymers, synthesized via sol-gel processing, were used as coating material. Due to the hybrid character of the coating, good adhesion is achieved on both glass and polymer surfaces. Good compatibility is also given with enzymes and ruthenium complexes. The sensitive optical coating was built up as double-layer and single-layer structures. The double layer comprised a primary coating containing the oxygen-sensitive ruthenium complex, and a secondary coating containing the enzyme. The single layer comprised a single coating containing both the ruthenium complex and the enzyme.

Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this study, 4-amino-9-methoxypropylnaphthalimide fluorescent dye (dye 1) was reacted with poly(amidoamine) dendrimer G = ?0.5 to prepare a naphthalimide–dendrimer hybrid dye (dye 2). The chemical structures of the synthesised dyes were confirmed by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The solvatochromism of the dyes was evaluated in various solvents with respect to visible absorption properties, and positive solvatochromism was observed by solvent polarity change from chloroform to ethanol. The dyeing ability of the synthesised dyes was investigated by their application onto nylon fabric, and nylon substrates dyed with dye 2 exhibited marked enhancement both in terms of colour strength and general fastness properties. The results of this study clearly demonstrated the high potential and performance of dye 2 as a novel promising fluorescent dye as compared with dye 1. Overall, it was inferred that the modification of the naphthalimide fluorescent dye with poly(amidoamine) denderimer could markedly improve the dyeing and fastness properties of the naphthalimide fluorescent dye on nylon fabrics. Polyacétate de vinyleIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In the field of organic and printed electronics (e.g., polymer solar cells, OLEDs, or Li-ion batteries), there is a growing demand for thin functional layers with highly homogeneous surface topology. If these layers are coated from the liquid phase, the coating and drying steps affect the surface quality. As a result of inhomogeneous drying rates, the solvent concentration can vary along the top surface and the thickness of a solidifying solution, leading to local differences in surface tension. In turn, Marangoni convection, as the balancing mechanism, can occur and cause surface inhomogeneity. The in situ reconstruction of the free surface during drying has been presented elsewhere. During this investigation phenomena occurred that could not be completely understood without knowledge of the respective flow field. In the present work, the visualization of the flow field in thin polymer films [methanol-poly(vinyl acetate) solution with 67 wt% methanol] due to inhomogeneous drying is presented. To resolve the flow field, we apply fluorescent particle tracking (µPTV). Since both measurement techniques cannot easily be applied at the same time, the boundary conditions were adapted to the way of observation of each experimental setup. In the case of the setup for surface reconstruction of the free surface, locally different evaporation rates were realized by drying on a structured substrate (varying material). To force similar variation of the drying conditions in the case of the µPTV setup, the drying film was partially covered. As expected, both boundary conditions result in a propagating wave front towards regions of high surface tension. Combining both experimental setups, we were able to visualize the free surface and the flow structures up- and downstream of the wave front and found different flow regimes.
