Revêtement auto-nettoyantIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Surface that can repel both water and oily Iiquids known as omniphobic surface & Surfaces that display I iquid contact angles greater than 150° along with low contact angle hysteresis for Iiquids with both high and low surface tension values are known as superomniphobic surfaces. This includes superhydrophobic and superoleophobic phenomena. Omniphobic coating provide a surface that can repel almost ail liquids, in recent years, several strategies have been attempted to prepare omniphobic surfaces that repel both polar and non polar Iiquids.
In this review, brief synopses of superomniphobicity are described that include surface energy role, roughness, re-entrant texture using the Young equation & theories of Wenzel and Cassie-Baxter in fabricating superomniphobic coating. Review also covered the durability & applications of superomniphobic coating such as self-cleaning coating & corrosion resistance coating with recent development. Finally, conclude with a discussion of the unresolved challenges in developing of durable superomniphobic coati ng that defi ne the scope for further improvements in the field.Note de contenu : - BASICS OF SUPEROMNIPHOBIC SURFACES : Contact angle and the Young equation - Rough surfaces and the Wenzel and Cassie-Baxter models

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The use of water-borne protective coatings is increasing due to legislation on the emission of solvents (volatile organic compound) from paints. The aim is to reduce the content of the volatile organic compound (VOC) of the paint and subsequent emission into the atmosphere. Water-borne paints are one class of coatings that normally have VOC levels below any regulatory limits and can be used to reduce overall emissions compared to solvent-borne paints.
Due to environmental considerations, water-based systems are becoming more essential in the production of heat-resistant coatings. Compared to traditional solvent-based resins, water based silicone resins significantly reduce VOC emissions in coating formulations. The aim of water borne heat resistant paint is to reduce extensive usage of solvent in heat resistant paint for the concern of eco-system.
This review paper will talk about the water borne Heat resistant paint and their advantages over solvent based heat resistant paints.Note de contenu : - What are waterborne coatings ?

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : In the earlier chapter I had mentioned the broad classifications of the Special Effect Pigments....a short recall..."PEARL PAINTS — If one is after a luxury look the soft pearly satin gleam of pearl paint adds a subtle yet elegant mood to a room. Pearl offers a soft natural glow as it both absorbs and reflects natural light. Pearl comes in a beautiful palette of whites and neutrals. By adding a simple smalI effect like a shimmer to feature wall in a room can really make a massive difference to the overalI space. They have good compatibility with a variety of pigment dispersions to produce thousands of shades." Note de contenu : - What is happening inside

PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Increasing global energy crisis of petroleum resources has shifted focus of chemical industries to look for alternative raw material resources. The main focus of raw materials in polyurethane system, such as polyol i.e. based on petroleum and natural gas, would be gradually replaced by those from renewable sources. Starch is a relatively inexpensive and renewable product from abundant plants natural sources like starch is used during manufacturing of polyurethane (PU) foam extensively from the last decades and replaced petrochemical based PU foam due to their lower environmental few impact, easy availability, lower cost and biodegradability. Starch which is an abundant but underutilized component of cellulosic biomaterials constitutes a rich source of polyol and being considered for the production of bio-degradable PU foam. Lignin was mainly used for production of degradable polyurethane foams, followed by elastomers as well as wood adhesives. For this review paper we will focus on the progress of research in starch based polyurethane materials for foam application.
