Toiture -- Revêtements:Toiture -- PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In the coatings world, the growing global demand for energy reduction presents opportunities and provides the movement for innovation; therefore, the potential for energy savings enabled by the coatings is becoming increasingly recognized. Sunlight at ground-level incorporates incident radiation in the ultraviolet, visible and infra-red regions with wavelengths spanning 300 to 2500 nm. Any part of the solar spectrum where a surface absorbs incoming sunlight will cause an increase in surface temperature above ambient temperatures. If heat cannot be re-radiated to the sky, it will conduct through roof spaces towards the ceiling and radiate downwards through insulation bans. This produc-es a heat load on buildings, resulting in loss of comfort or an increase in electricity bills and green house gas emissions for air-conditioning.
The 'cool roof and wall' technology for buildings is probably the best current illustration of how solar-reflective coatings can play an effective role in helping to combat the rise in energy consumption, but the time is arguably right for exploring other potential applications for these coatings. Marine, automotive and aerospace products are likely candidates to benefit from a new generation of solar-reflective coatings.Note de contenu : - Ultraviolet region (295-400 Nm)

At present waterborne organic coatings have been widely employed as building coating and wood paint while this application as anticorrosive coatings for metal is still limited. Reduction in volatile organic compound and CO2 has been achieved by high solid coatings, powder coatings, and waterborne coatings.
Traditional paints consist of hydrophobic polymer dissolved in hydrocarbon. They are appreciated for their rheological properties and smooth and glossy film form upon drying and cross linking but now are banned because of hazards associated with solvent in terms of health waterborne paints based on colloidal resin dispersion are an improvement waterborne coatings has some problems but it is most preferable because of compatibility of conventional coating systems.
In this review, brief synopses recent development of waterborne coating for automotive industries with concept including UV curable waterborne coating & waterdispersible polyurethane pellets.Note de contenu : - INTRODUCTION : Types of waterborne coatings (Water-soluble paints - Water-dispersible paints or colloidal coatings - Emulsions/latex paints - Water-based alkyds)

Revêtements -- Additifs:Peinture -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A Defoamer or an anti-foaming agent is a chemical additive that reduces and hinders the formation of foam in industrial process liquids. Commonly used agents are insoluble oils, polydimethylsiloxanes and other silicones, certain alcohols, stearates and glycols. The additive is used to prevent formation of foam or is added to break a foam which is already formed. We can make a distinction between macro and micro-foam. Macro-foam is often formed at the surface of the coating and micro-foam is entrapment of air bubbles that is not able to rise fast enough to the surface. For micro foam we need an air release agent to coagulate the micro bubbles to bigger air bubbles so they can rise faster to the surface to be destroyed. Note de contenu : - What is foam ?
