PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Development and growth of the adhesives market is related to the growing world population and wealth. People are searching for solutions to reduce reliability on scarce raw materials and to improve the carbon footprint of products thoughout the product lifetime. At the same time there is a continuing demand for improved performance, to extend the life time of products or allow for the development of new applications where adhesives could not be used so far.
Polyurethanes are highly versatile systems and they are, therefore, used more and more to produce high-performance adhesives and sealants. Adhesives facilitate lightweight design, improving fuel efficiency and reducing material use eg in transportation, electronics and renewable energy systems. Polyurethane adhesives are used on dissimilar substrates, such as composites, plastics and metal, where traditional joining is replaced by adhesive bounding.Note de contenu : - Background to advanced polyol technology

This protects coatings and substrates without any adtive releasing of biocides and without promoting the development of resistance. Test paints showed excellent resistance to microbial attack, with performance maintained after washing tests. Note de contenu : - problems associated with conventional biocides
- Regulatory product classification summarised
- Limitations and restriction on currently used biocides expected
- Nature inspires new approach to antimicrobial coatings
- How the biocidal binder functions
- Preparation and testing of antimicrobial wall paints
- High protection and resistance to washing
- Legislative and environmental advantages

Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A range of polyester polyols based on dimerised fatty acids was produced and evaluated in both conventional and UV-curable polyurethane dispersions. Their highly hydrophobic nature and lack of ether bonds result in good hydrolytic stability, fast water release on drying and resistance to degradation by UV light and moisture. Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Priplast technology can be used to create cost effective, high-performance polyurethane adhesives. The new liquid bio-based Priplast polyols are easy to use and modify the adhesives to become hydrophobic, highly flexible and provide adhesion to various substrates. Durability is enhanced due to thermo-oxidative stability and improved hydrolytic stability versus conventional polyester polyols. Application possibilities include lightweight construction, flexible sporting goods and laminated furniture. Note de contenu : - Background to bio-based polyol technology

Titre : Polyester polyols for water resistant polyurethane coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Erwin Honcoop, Auteur ; Eric Appelman, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 35-43 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethanes provide an obvious way to very high performing coatings for many uses, and have found a long use in solvent borne systems. Polyurethanes can be readily made water borne and have been used successfully as such or in acrylic-urethane hybrids. However, bringing them into water has taken the shine of polyurethanes to quite an extend, because of the hydrolytic sensitivity of the commonly used adipate polyester backbones. This results in poor storage stability, and film durability. This problem can be countered through a range of hydrolytically stable polyester polyols based on dimerized fatty acids. Note de contenu : - Dimerized fatty acids
- Dimer technology gives polyurethanes more resistance
- Preparation of PU elastomers
- Water uptake and hydrolysis
- Mechanical properties : dimerbased PU behaves like a rubber
- Adhesion of dimer-based PU is improved on polar and nonpolar substrates
- PU dispersion
- Preparation of PU dispersions
- Mechanical properties : elongation
- Coating hardness of the polyurethane dispersions are comparable
- Adhesion to various substrates
- Chemical resistance and water uptake of dimer fatty acid based PU dispersions.
- PU based on dimer fatty acid resists heat, oxygen and ultraviolet radiation attack.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mjd_Ywds4Hd9WZWc9HitT1sblfW-5tm5/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10715
