QuinonesLes quinones constituent une série de diènes plutôt que des composés aromatiques comportant un noyau de benzène sur lequel deux atomes d'hydrogène sont remplacés par deux atomes d'oxygène formant deux liaisons carbonyles (dicétones éthylèniques conjuguées cycliques).
Les quinones sont des transporteurs d'électrons dans la membrane mitochondriale interne et dans la membrane des thylakoïdes.
Les principales quinones sont : la benzoquinone ou quinone (C6H4O2), découverte en 1838 par Wosrerenski, chimiste polonais, dont on utilise les propriétés rédox dans la technique de développement photographique. C'est l'un des deux isomères de la cyclohexadienedione. L'orthobenzoquinone est la 1,2-dione, alors que la parabenzoquinone, est la 1,4-dione.
Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This article represents work done on photoinitiators to enhance and upgrade the conventional mechanism of UV curable coatings. Hybrid organic—inorganic macro photoinitiator bearing pendant tertiary amine groups (0I-AH) was prepared by hydrolytic condensation of a silane containing amino groups. The macromolecular amino-functionalized photo-initiator was used in combination with Carnphor Quinone (CQ) for visible-light photo-polymerization. The evolution of monomer conversion versus irradiation time showed that the 0I-AH are efficient co-initiator of CQ because a fast reaction and hie, conversion result after 60 s irradiation with a LED source of 600 mW/cm2.
Polymerizable organosilicon macromolecular photo-initiator HHMP-Si-CC not only spontaneously form a
concentration gradient in the photo-polymerization system, initiate gradient photo-polymerization and effectively
mitigate inhibition of oxygen, but also overcome the migration of photolysis fragments of the photo-initiator from UV-curable material. HHMP-Si-CC should have potential applications for preparing more environnnentally friendly gradient materials.
A novel polymeric photo initiator, poly (glycidyl benzophenone ether) (PGBE), with a side-chairs benzophenone (BP) group was synthesized from poly(epichlorohydrin) and 4-hydroxybenzophenone. The obvious advantage of this initiator was the elimination of amine based hydrogen donors and to provide alternative hydrogen donors with easy availability and non-toxicity. The polymeric initiator was found to have higher efficiency than BP/E AB (Ethy14- dimethylaminolbenzoate).
Polymeric benzophenone photo-initiator (PEG-BP) was synthesized basing on polyethylene glycol (PEG), succinic anhydride, 4-hydroxy benzophenone and epichlorohydrin. The obvious advantage of this initiator was the elimination of amine based hydrogen donors and to provide alternative hydrogen donors with easily availability and non toxicity. The synthesized polymeric photo-initiators are attractive to.be used as type II photo-initiators. Moreover, the water solubility of PEG provides the use of initiating system in water-borne formulations. They exhibit excellent brilliant shades, high tinting strength, low cost and high performance. Copper phthalocyanine pigment is first discovered accidently in the year 1907 by Braun and Tchermiac. Copper phthalocyanine pigment obtained by reacting phthalic anhydride , urea, cuprous and high boiling solvents in presence of ammonium molybdate as a catalyst, product se obtained is called crude CPC. The phthalocyanine molecule is structurally similar to that of porphine. Chemically one can call copper phthalocyanine the copper complex of tetraazatetrabenzoporphine. The central metal atom is covalently bonded with two nitogens of the porphine ring and aise has co-ordinate linkage with two other nitrogens of the same ring. CPC is available in various isomeric crystals forms, they are named as a, b,Y, d, and e. Various grades of copper phthalocyanine pigments are available commercially depending upon the crystal form of CPC. Pigment blue 15.3 is widely used blue pigment which is b form, CPC. C’est un métal pauvre, malléable, de couleur argent, qui est remarquable pour sa résistance à l’oxydation13 et sa faible densité. C'est le métal le plus abondant de l'écorce terrestre et le troisième élément le plus abondant après l'oxygène et le silicium ; il représente en moyenne 8 % de la masse des matériaux de la surface solide de notre planète. L'aluminium est trop réactif pour exister à l'état natif dans le milieu naturel : on le trouve au contraire sous forme combinée dans plus de 270 minéraux différents, son minerai principal étant la bauxite, où il est présent sous forme d’oxyde hydraté dont on extrait l’alumine. Il peut aussi être extrait de la néphéline, de la leucite, de la sillimanite, de l'andalousite et de la muscovite.
L'aluminium métallique est très oxydable, mais est immédiatement passivé par une fine couche d'alumine Al2O3 imperméable de quelques micromètres d'épaisseur qui protège la masse métallique de la corrosion. On parle de protection cinétique, par opposition à une protection thermodynamique, car l’aluminium reste en tout état de cause très sensible à l'oxydation. Cette résistance à la corrosion et sa remarquable légèreté en ont fait un matériau très utilisé industriellement.
L'aluminium est un produit industriel important, sous forme pure ou alliée, notamment dans l'aéronautique, les transports et la construction. Sa nature réactive en fait également un catalyseur et un additif dans l'industrie chimique ; il est ainsi utilisé pour accroître la puissance explosive du nitrate d'ammonium.

When it comes to the other non ferrous metals, generally the extent of corrosion is less as compared to ferrous metals. Apart from ferrous metals, aluminium is one of the most produced metals worldwide because of its numerous beneficial properties. Earlier aluminium was not in very much use because of the difficulties faced in its extraction. By the end of 19th century the electrolytic reduction of aluminum oxide suggested by Hall & Heroult made the extraction of aluminium very easy and this method was accepted globally. The reason behind the large usage of aluminium are its very useful properties like :
1. Light weight and electrical conductivity e.g., applications in eleçtrical industry and aircraft manufacturing.
2. Wide range of strengths and ease of fabrication e.g., application in automobile industry. Almost all engine parts are made of aluminium by casting in various chapes.
3. Corrosion resistant, non-toxic, recyclable etc.
But corrosion of aluminium also takes place as it is the Iaw of nature.
