Résumé : |
Commercial grades of hydrophobically modified hydroxyethyl cellulose (HMHECs) have been widely accepted in the paint industry as rheology modifers for latex paints. These products provide paints with improved rheology compared to those paint systems thickened through a non-associative thickening mechanism. Nevertheless, the rheology requirements for high gloss emulsion paints are more severe and have led to the development of a new generation of cellulose ether-based associative thickeners. This paper describes the formulating variables wich shouls be considered when using these low molecular associative cellulose ethers in gloss emulsion paints. |
