Revêtements en bâtiment:Peinture en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : While VAE dispersions are often classified as the technology of choice for low VOC interior flat or low sheen coatings, the possibilities for ethylene-containing dispersions reach far beyond that. Due to the availability and versatility of comonomer types stabilisation methods and functional monomer choices, the properties of ethylene-containing dispersions can be modified to develop high-performing options for a variety of coatings applications. This includes but is not limited to roof coatings, exterior paints, elastomeric coatings, high PVC coatings and flame retardant coatings. Note de contenu : - Going beyond interior house paints

Revêtements en bâtiment:Peinture en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : lnnovative renewable resins with 100% solids have been developed, containing 80% and 100% bio-based materials respectively and no emulsifiers.
Both resins have been successfully used as sole binders in decorative paints. A 55% PVC white paint formulation was used to assess the resins' behaviour in moderately high binder content coatings. Paint properties were generally in agreement with standard Vam/VeoVa and acrylic latex binders for interior applications, white for exterior applications further improvements are still needed.
A specific interior matte paint formulation was developed to meet the European Ecolabel criteria. In addition to a high quality acrylic latex, both renewable resins were able to produce paints whose properties are in compliance with Ecolabel parameters.
The presented resins are, thus, excellent choices to increase the bio-based content of a decorative paint.
Further characterisation is being carried out and different formulations are being tested in order to explore the possibilities of these novel renewable resins.Note de contenu : - Renewable resin as co-binder

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Hydrophobically modified ethylene oxide urethanes or 'HEUR' rheology modifiers provide rheology profiles offering excellent flow and levelling, good water resistance properties and efficient ways to increase the high shear application viscosity. An enhanced technology has been developed in HEUR chemistry to offer ways to produce concentrated HEUR rheology modifiers without the need for organic solvent or additives, like surfactants, to suppress the solution viscosity. This allows one to produce HEURs with low 'as supplied' viscosity for ease of handling in production.
In addition, this technology offers materials that contribute to narrow the gap in several performance areas including increased thickening efficiency and cost in use, improved balance between levelling and sag, improve applied hide and reduced viscosity loss upon tinting.Note de contenu : - HEUR acid suppression technology

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : New additive performs on a very high level with a broad range of iron oxide grades independent from their morphology and structure. It combines outstanding viscosity reduction and very good long-term stability of iron oxide concentrates with excellent hiding power. The new additive provides an optimised balance between electrostatic and steric stabilisation making it a very efficient additive. This additive helps to reduce complexity and finally it contributes to a more cost efficient way to formulate decorative coatings. Note de contenu : - Pigment concentrate technology
