Résumé : |
Thermoset composites as a family of materials generally have been the dominant workhorse of both advanced composites and FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) composites for many years. Some thermoset resins are very well known because they are used frequently by the general public : polyester and epoxy systems. Others re also used frequently by the general public but the generic family names are not quite as often heard : phenolics, vinyl esters and polyurethanes. However, overall the thermoset resin family has made significant in-roads into everyday applications within the aerospace, commercial, industrial, sports and recreation, energy and medical fields over the past 50-60 years as composite applications have grown. |
