Depending on the coating formulation, they prove to be hard, yet still flexible, even in cold weather.
Additional values to mention are the corresponding coatings are high-gloss, weather resistant, highly chemical resistant and, depending on the dispersion used, characterised by a pronounced self-healing effect after scratching or are very fast drying, meaning the oven temperature for drying coated objects can be reduced to cut energy costs and CO2 emissions. These new PU and PAC dispersions are already used in the field of general industrial, wood and furniture coating. The dispersions presented here make it possible, using waterborne products, to fulfill or even exceed the requirements imposed on coatings in market segments previously dominated by conventional coating systems and they are very eco-friendly thanks to their low VOC content. A significant expansion is expected in the use of waterborne polyurethane coatings in the medium term. These new building blocks, therefore, will add a new chapter to the overall success story of aliphatic 2K polyurethane coatings.Note de contenu : - Internal activation cuts energy costs and reduces CO2 emissions

Greenhouse gas emissions can only be limited if energy is used more efficiently than it has been to date. Home heating, air conditioning and hot water accoung for the lion's share of private energy consumption. This is unlikely to change in the near future, since nobody wants to make do without hot water and comfortable living, nor should they have to. Nevertheless, there are ways to reduce domestic energy demand.
In recent years, the construction and chemical industries have developed innovative technologies and products that contribute significantly to increased energy efficiency. Energy efficient exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) and water-repellent insulating materials impregnated with silicone products reduce heat loss in the home and lead to a drastic reduction inheating costs. Silicone resin emulsion paints also help conserve energy because they keep exterior wall dry and, thus, preserve the insulating effect of the masonry.Note de contenu : - Reducing energy costs

The improvement of some properties of water-based decorative paints such as open time, hardness, dirt pick-up resistance, hiding power in the presence of Bindzil CC301 has to be related to the fact that : Colloidal silica particles migrate to the paint suface during the film formation, inducing its enrichment by silica-based components. The thin silica layer on the paint surface has been pointed out by means of IR and SEM analysis.
Those nanoparticles also act as dispersing agent or spacing agent for both pigment and organic particles.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RMqbiJqVzO8S-NNGEZoYb2cnvBtNNAmG/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=17198

Dr. Ulla Vogel, head of Denmark's nanotoxicology and occupational Hygiene at Denmark's National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) was speaking after appearing at the safety of Engineered Nanoparticles and Nanotechnologies (SENN) 2012 international congress in Helsinki. She said a project undertaken with the Danish Coatings and Adhesives Association (DFL), investigating the health effects of adding different nanoparticles (NPs) to lacquer, plaster and paints had produced encouraging results. A paper on the project has just been released.
Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The author discusses a proven method for dispersing fumed metal oxides down to individual particles in water for efficient utilisation in polymer latex systems.
Fumed silica and fumed alumina are examples of nanoscale inorganic additives for waterborne (WB) polymer film and coating systems. Fumed metal oxides can often be difficult to work with because they exist mostly as high surface area powdery agglomerates that are not easily separated or dispersed into individual particels. Cabot's Cab-O-Sperse colloidal scale dispersions are available in a range of concentrations, particle sizes, surface charges and different pH ranges for use in a wide variety of applications. Specifically, Cab-O-Sperse fumed metal oxide particle dispersions provide formulationflexibility to waterborne coatings that can help balance wet formulation processing needs with coating optical, mechanical and chemical performance demands. These dispersions provide a convenient waterborne vehicle for nanocomposite materials.Note de contenu : - State of dispersion

The biocidal legislation of the European Union (Bicidal Products Directive - 98/8/EC - soon to be replaced by the Biocidal (Products Regulation in late 2013) will, in the very near future, severely limit the choice of algicides and fungicides, which can continue to be used to provide a which can continue to be used to provide a sustainable and effective solution in preventing the growth of surface moulds, algae and lichens, which lead to the disfigurement and eventual failure of coatings. The paper will detail how this very legislation led to the development of Polymer Shielded Technology, a novel concept for the delivery of active ingredients to improve the long-term fungicidal and algicidal performance of coatings.Note de contenu : - How does film contamination occur ?

Système de libération contrôlée (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Dry-film preservatives are essential to extend the service life of coatings eg on building façades but due to climatic effects the active ingredients can be leached out by rain or degraded by UV light. In order to improve the durability of their products, the paints and coatings industry is keenly looking for future-proof solutions, which keep the paint surface clean and free of infestation. Particularly in the field of algicidal action only little choice of appropriate biocides is available. On the other hand, the demand for environmental compatible and, at the same time, cost-efficient algicides is increasing, not least due to global climate changes. In this context, this presentation provides future-proof solutions with state-of-the-art formulation technology of Diuron. Note de contenu : - MICROBIAL INFESTATION OF FACACES HAS INCREASES REMARKABLY : Biocidal protection of exterior surfaces is essential
- THERMAL BRIDGES AND ENERGY SAVING MEASURES CAN SUPPORT FUNGI AND ALGAE GROWTH : Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) is inevitable
