Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Rapid UV cure at ambient temperature of solvent free formulations delivers best economic value for applications such as computer chips, optical fiber coatings, and lithography. Vehicles for UV cure coatings use suitable combinations of oligomers and monomers. Present review covers structure, activity, and basis of selection of acrylate monomers in free radical initiated UV cure coating formulations. Some examples of commercially available mono, di, tri, tetra and higher functional acrylate monomers along with their chemical structure, typical physical properties, coating characteristics and applications have been presented Non-acrylated reactive diluents such as vinyl ethers and PVP have also been covered The influence of monomers as diluents on the viscosityofthe formulation; variation in structure-activity relationship through alkoxylation, % shrinkage during UV cure; reactivity and performance properties of coating as governed by the choice of monomer combinations; wetting and adhesion characteristics based on surface tension of monomers; the affinity of the monomers for water and oily materials depending on HLB Balance; RI―structure relationship; and durability, colour, toxicity and irritancy characteristics of monomers have been illustrated with due support by specific examples. Generally, these solvents provide various benefits, such as facilitating proper film formation, making it easier to mix parts A & B together, and are also thought to extend the pot-life. However, due to new lower VOC limits on floor coatings enacted in the south coast region of California, the reduction or removal of organic solvents is desired. By using specific raw materials and formulation techniques, it is possible to formulate garage concrete floor topcoats with VOC contents below 50g/L, while maintaining good performance properties and ease of field applications by do-it-yourselfers (DIY) Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9837

Revêtements -- DétériorationIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Pipeline coating material such as coaltar enamel, coal tar tape, coal tar epoxy, high build epoxy polyurethane, cold applied PE tapes and 3 layer polyethylene are prepared as tape/film and their reflectance IR Spectrum were recorded. These seven pipeline coating materials are further subjected to accelerated cathodic disbondment test as per ASTM Standards and IR Spectrum were also recorded for these disbonded portions of coating. The comparative studies were done of IR Spectrum data for each film before and after salt spray & cathodic disbondment and assessment were made about degradation of different resin system. Matières plastiques -- MétallisationIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Vacuum metallization is the process of evaporating metals (most commonly aluminium) inside a vacuum chamber to achieve a uniform 'metallized layer". It is utilized for different applications In automotive industries, as a chrome alternative, for decorative metallic finishes, to create highly reflective coatings, heat shielding, and others. In this review paper concept of vacuum metallization on plastic components is reviewed on basic stages of vacuum metallization on plastic components i.e i) Pretreatment ii) metallization and iii) post-treatment The paper also consists of troubles faced during the vacuum coating of plastic and their remedies to overcome the tribulations. The vacuum deposition process is a physical, rather than electrochemical, method of depositing metals onto a substrate. The deposition takes place within a vacuum chamber where metal is melted and then becomes gaseous when it reaches its vapor point Gas molecules traveling by line of sight then condense on the desired substrate, creating a relatively uniform coating. The vacuum system itself consists ofan airtight chamber where the deposition process occurs. The plastic substrates that work well for vacuum metallization include ABS, polypropylene and styrene etc. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9839
