Résumé : |
Using a processor tensiometer, the capillary rise technique is a tool to measure the wettability of powders followed by evaluation of the contact angle and the surface free energy of the solid. After a theoretical introduction into the contact angle evaluation model, according to Washburn and surface free energy determination, measurements with n-hexane and acetone on six surface modified titanium dioxide pigments and their ranking in terms of wettability (or hydrophilicity) are presented. |
