Technique de la productionIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : From 1 October 2021, powder mixtures containing at least 1% titanium dioxide with a particle size É 10 pm are required by law to carry a warning label alerting users to a possible formation of respirable dusts or droplets. To waive this labelling requirement, we have developed a process that reduces the content of Ti02-fine dust (particle size É 10 pm) in the powder coating to values below 1 %. Additional benefits include high throughputs and the highest product yields. Note de contenu : - TiO2 will remain in use reduction system cuts costs and hazardous waste

Revêtements poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Powder coating small and medium-sized batches of complex parts requires efficient and flexible solutions. A depth-controlled, individual positioning system for spray guns using laser technology has proven to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional coating processes and opens up a variety of new applications. Note de contenu : - A lower-cost alternative to robots
- Efficiently coating complex parts
- Individually adjustable gun axes
- A broad variety of applications

Revêtements poudre:Peinture poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Hydroxyl-terminated polyester resins with different acid numbers were synthesized and used in powder coating formulations. Coatings were formulated with isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI)-based hardeners and tested for mechanical performance, appearance, and weathering. This study found that resins containing a high concentration of residual acid groups (also referred to as undercondensed resins) had to be formulated according to their total reactive number, the sum of acid and hydroxyl numbers, in order to achieve complete cure. High acid numbers also caused poor overbake and salt spray resistance. The addition of adipic or benzoic acids to the powder formulation accelerated cure. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Titanium dioxide pigments will typically have an inorganic surface coating based on a blend of alumina and silica and an organic treatment. Both the organic and inorganic treatments can influence the cure characteristics of polyester powder coatings. This paper attempts to explore the connectivity between the nature of the coating and the cure behavior of a typical heat-cured epoxidized isocyanurate formulation. It is found that a high silica:alumina content in the inorganic pacification layer significantly retards the cure process, but is influenced by the nature of the organic treatment. The organic surface treatment may accelerate or retard the initial cure process and gelation times. Elemental analysis indicates that some of the pigments studied have a significantly higher zirconium content and exhibited enhanced cure rates compared with those with the lower zirconium content. This paper illustrates the potential effects of different grades of titanium dioxide on the cure of polyester powder coatings.
