Fibres textiles synthétiques -- Applications industriellesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Acrylic fiber is a mature product that remains alive due to its unusual versatility. The Portuguese company Fisipe S.A, Lavradio, produces acrylic fibers with special touch, low pilling, raw white easy to dye and dyed fiber. To produce these fibers the company studied the process and started to control it from the raw material (ACN) until the final product, the fiber. This capabiity creates opportunities to develop technical fibers for sectors like the company has different types of technical fibers in the product portfolio, such as Pulp+, Binder+, Asphal+, Filter+ - acrylic fibers with and without crimping, high tenacity available with different finishes depending on its application. PolyéthylèneIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The producers of the high-performance polyethylene (PE) and aramid fibers claim the most fantastic properties such as stronger than steel. These fibers compete in the market in the areas of cut-resistant gloves, ropes and ballistics. In this article the pros and cons are critically evaluated to aid the reader in understanding the facts. In order to properly understand the difference between aramid and PE fibers, some process development aspects will be discussed first. Note de contenu : - DEVELOPMENT OF ARAMID FIBERS

Polyesters
Polymères -- Recyclage
Produits et matériaux recyclésIndex. décimale : 677.47 Non cellulosiques : Nylon, acryliques, polyesters, vinyles Résumé : Polyester fiber is one of the most commonly used fibers in technical as well as apparel application areas and contributes a greaterthan 75% share in global syntheticfiber manufacture. Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) is the most extensively recycled plastic in the world. Nearly 72% of the materials produced by recycling PET bottle waste are in the form of polyester fiber. According to the Polyethylene Terephthalate Resin Association (PETRA), New York, NY/USA, the European Union (EU) recycling rate is about 52%, whereas it is 30% in the USA. Melt spinning technology is used to produce recycled polyester fibers from post-consumer PET bottles. To minimize the environmental related issues, various researchers have explored the potential use of recycled polyester fibers in developing various textile products. The following discusses the technical applications of recycled polyester fibers. Note de contenu : - Oil spill cleanups
